Make toxicity more punishable!

I feel like this game can get out of hand with toxicity and I feel like riot should make harsher rules. Calling people r%%%%%ed or autistic should give them an instant punishment just like when you tell someone to die, you can keep saying fuck of course and other words for frustration. This is my own opinion and I feel like if Riot wants to keep the toxicity down this is a good idea, since toxicity has gotten way worse than a few years ago. (my own opinion)

Edit: No I'm not offended by words in a game, but I feel like it ruins the experience and makes it less fun.

How much more safe space do you need? People literally get permabanned for talking about what happened in game without using any swear words cuz it's "offensive" and "negative" to tell the jungler to not afk farm or ask why bot is losing the 1v2 when supp roams top.

People do not get banned for constructive criticism.

What you describe is not constructive. It is flaming, and it's being an asshole. You don't have to point out every mistake. And you certainly don't get to boss other players around.

I think everyone should be able to make a list of words that they want to see, and If a word is not in that list it just doesn't show up for you. This is the ULTIMATE SAFE PLACE for people like you. If you are brutally hurt by a bad word, just do not put it on the list problem solved ;)

Honestly what do you think, what happens when a person is called autistic? Do they turn autistic, do the commit sudoku, do they cry in the corner of their room, do they even care what a random stranger says about them? Would YOU care if I called you autistic? What would happen to you?

The idea is that it makes people not want to play the game, Likely it has no effect on them in real life but if riot wants a healthy player base, why allow others to annoy others that just might have enough and leave lol?

Fair point, but consider this: People don't queue up to yell at people. They begin to yell at people when the people in question are ruining their enjoyment of the game. Granted, this is not always justified. But a large part of the issue is the fact that while flamers are treated as scum, trolls are largely given free reign. More trolls lead to more ruined matches lead to more flaming, and this double standard sends the message that it doesn't matter if someone ruins your fun, but if you hurt someone's feelings, you're out.

Exactly what I'm talking about, but if you want to stop playing a game, what you like, just because somebody said a bad word, then it affects you. And this is pathetic, since when started people caring about what a random idiot in a video game tells us? Why do you have to be brutally hurt by the words of a stranger who has no idea who you are, etc... This is just plain stupid.

For some people it became more fun in the game to ban other people than to play the game. People come here on Boards being soo happy they got an IFS popup, like it was the biggest achievement of their life....

TLDR;

Play the game for the game, if you do not like somebody mute. You do not have to take every idiot serious.

I got banned once for calling someone an idiot one time. Their system sucks and if anything it needs to be less punishable with toxicity and more punishable for people who troll and intentionally feed - for which they do little to nothing regularly.

As someone told you before, you were not banned for "calling someone an idiot once". You were punished because:

You dont get keyword banned, this is not bloody club penguin. Punishments are for intent, and your intent was harassment.

Please do not spread misinformation on the boards - it doesn't help anything and the Universal Rules prohibit it - I'd hate to see the moderators edit or remove your posts because of it.

And reread the post - this was not my initiating post. You can say I'm lying all you want but it happened to my other account, and if the mods ban me for it then that's more reason for me to leave and find a better game that doesn't have such a garbage punishment system.

Edit - what I meant by "being banned for calling them an idiot once" was referring to the last straw where I had that tick mark checked due to calling them an idiot once. The prior times to getting disciplined were due to things that were worthy of being punished. But calling someone an idiot? That's just sad. Game is run by snowflakes. Only reason I'm even still around is because something better hasn't come out yet, and when it does hopefully it's not run by a company like this one.

You were punished because you were continually flaming and harassing someone else in your game. Not for the word "idiot" said "once".

You were punished for your behavior - not your choice of words. Take that line with "idiot" out and you still would've been punished.

The fact stands that riot does little to absolutely nothing for the true problem of intentionally feeding or trolling players and takes the easy road of banning or chat restricting "toxic" players

Just because you think it's "intentional" does not make it so. Riot has taken the stance that missing punishing some intentional feeders is better than accidentally punishing innocent players.

If Riot was more strict on "intentional" feeding, I can find multiple games in this account's match history that would likely result in punishment for "intentional" feeding. I mean, you should've known better, right?

Ok then answer me this. I was previously in a game where 5 of the players in the game, both on my team and the enemy team said they were reporting X player. This player said IN CHAT that he was intentionally feeding and that because he was "moving around" he wouldn't be targeted by the automated punishment system. He continued to feed and afk at spawn, then reported all of us. One of the people he reported was a friend of mine who literally just asked people on the other team to report this person for intentionally trolling WHICH HE ADMITTED TO IN CHAT.

Person gets away with it even after 5 reports as system does not send a message confirming punishment. Though he SUCCEEDS in having chat restriction hammer slam on my friend's account for asking what he did.

DOES THIS SEEM FAIR TO YOU? AND IF SO WHAT WORLD DO YOU LIVE IN?

Rules aside (bad ones at that) this is just absurd. Riot's policies are a failure. You see posts about it all the time on the forums and it's generally recognized as such. But many of these posts are actually deleted AS YOU SAID YOURSELF MAY HAPPEN TO ME. Garbage community, garbage rules, garbage punishment system. Period.

You seem to be confusing two things. Someone "moving around" is trying to avoid LeaverBuster - i.e. AFK punishment. That is a completely separate punishment for someone intentionally feeding (although recently Riot has been punishing those sorts of "afk trolls" as trolls - and there are threads on this board to prove it).

Riot punishes people who are "AFK trolling" (i.e. afkfarming/moving around every so often) with the same punishment as trolls get. But for people who are just "dying a lot", you have to prove it's intentional to punish them. Otherwise, people like yourself would be punished just for dying a lot when you "should've known better". You hear me? If Riot punished people "easier", you would likely be banned for intentional feeding given some games in your match history.

And by the way, the number of posts that are actually deleted on this board is very small. You can go back and look at the history - and if you check every couple hours, you'll see that almost all posts on this board get left up. Maybe a moderator can confirm this if you won't believe me.

You were not banned for that as the last straw. There is no "one line of chat" that is the "last straw". That game was the last straw not for your use of the word idiot. Once again, you would have been punished even if you never said that line period. It was not the word idiot that banned you - it was your continual flaming of someone.

a better way would be to promote competitiveness and denounce trollers and inters even if it means banning the false positives. yes manual unbanning would take some time and the man power on riots side would need to increase but would make a more tolerable experience.

Well, then at least they will not say anything bad while they are punished. Prevention is better than trying to save a person who suicided because of a bad word, I think we should just permanently ban everyone, so nobody can hurt others with words.

I’m sorry probably asking for a consequence. But I disagree with you. Toxicity should be allowed to a minimum standard. Why?

Because the 4 people who spent their daily life playing this game for almost an hour, lost desperatly due to a person who fed the enemy. Now could you guess this persons motive? Out of the 10 different options no, most likely they are tilted, or their just a troll trying to provoke.

But here comes why toxicity should be allowed. When one is trying to provoke others for them to say something insane. He should not be allowed to feel safe, therefore all his reports bare no consequence to those he provoked. This will most likely annoy the troll, therefore he will not do it again.

Toxicity bans should be removed. If you can't handle what they're saying then mute them. You probably deserve it too if you're being flamed.

What reason is there to punish "flaming" to begin with? Different people express frustration differently, and if someone's words offend your tender sensibilities, you can opt out of it by muting them. If anything, trolling/inting needs to be punished MUCH more harshly, and flaming much more leniently. A flamer's harmful behavior you can negate with a /mute. A troll's, you cannot.

Bottom line is, trolling is objectively harmful, flaming is only subjectively so.

(And before you bring out the "but trolling is much harder to detect" argument, we have game replays, so there is no technical obstacle to reviewing the reported player's actions.)
