Feedback about /remake
Hello, I'm sorry if this isn't the proper board to discuss this, I even consider this to be more appropriate in the PBE boards, but being that I don't own an account there I thought of posting it here. If this needs to be redirected or remade on another board, feel free to close this one.
I love that Riot is implementing a remake option. I personally haven't felt the need for the system, but being in the game long enough I've shared games with people that definitely can feel the frustration that must have impulsed the development of this feature. One thing I'd like to do is talk about the Leaver Buster implementation in this /remake system. So far we know that whoever that leaves/dc's in the game enabling the system is then given a loss alongside with a Leaver Buster flag, potentially causing a ban, queue times penalties, along other measures the system implements.
The thing I'd like to see changed is that Leaver Buster is a system implemented for the purpose of catching people with a negative behavior in the game and punish them accordingly, and this system has done a good job at punishing people since it's implementation as far as I'm concerned. If we think about the game without it, the Leaver Buster, alongside with the Tribunal, catched people who'd afk or dc/rage quit for extended periods of time or even not connecting at all, so those guys will still get as punished as usual when this system is implemented. The people I want to talk about is victims of such things as Bug Splat or client errors.
Being in the game for a long time, my friends, teammates, enemies or I have been victims of the Bug Splat errors that sometimes seem to rise back up from the dead. Not only that, after suffering from Bug Splat or any other kind of bug that can affect your initial portion of the game you often ran into another issue with the client, which would constantly tell you have an error reconnecting to the client, which is nothing but a phantom error. Mind you I read the patch notes that explained that bugs like this last one should be resolved by now, but we can look at the patch log all the cases we believed Shen was patched correctly a couple of seasons ago, just to find that his bug resurfaced after the statement. And even if this is the case, assuming your system is fail-proof is a bad practice, and there is currently no "penalty forgiven" (similar to loss forgiven) mentioned that could happen when servers have a big load of users or other cases.
If we consider this, I consider that this system won't help punish people that have gone unpunished through loopholes, and further punishes the victims while rightfully aiding the other players that don't wish to suffer through such a game, either from the ally or enemy team. I want this system to be implemented well for the benefit of all players with good behavior, and that's why I wanted to give this feedback anywhere it could be heard. Again, sorry if this post is set on a wrong board, and keep working on making this community enjoy your product as much as you have.
