One of the most toxic things in League...

... is when a person gives 2-3 deaths and then gives up, flames in the chat and goes afk in the fountain without even thinking that he should try getting back into the game, leaving me and 3 other people in a situation we can't get out of because of leaverbuster and forcing us to wait until 20:00 to surrender. This person just wasted 30 minutes of our time (if you include champ select and loading screen), because apparently his only motivation to play is to "get fed and make flashy plays". I thought I left situations like these behind me when I got out of silver, but the sad part is that it happens in platinum too, as well as gold and diamond. So much for playing League of Legends to take a break from studying.

He had a bad game. Isn't that the excuse, erm, reason that bad players with no intention of getting better and who have no business playing this type of game says all the time? I am all for the people who play to get better but there are way too many who don't and waste the time of others because, "it's only a game". Those players are the ones who cause all the toxicity in League and until someone in the right position wakes up and does something, it will continue to be a problem we have to deal with.

I agree.

It is only a game, which means you should have perspective. You play the game by working towards certain goals, if you aren't here to "play" then don't queue into matched games.

Poor gameplay by a single player affects the ability of the other players, on both teams, to enjoy the game. Nobody if forcing you to queue in. If you don't have the time, focus, mental inclination or whatever else to actually put energy into playing the game, you don't need to queue in. It's only a game.

I think that many players have a too big ego.

They queue up with the following mindset "I want to carry because I'm better than the noobs that are matched with me, I deserve to be in a better division / league / whatever".

As a result, when they start to lose, they will "tilt" : they gave up on the game because for them, they only want to win when they are having a good game.

They don't even realize that many "unwinnable" games are actually "winnable". Knowing how to carry a team is good, but knowing how to be carried is also super important.

When I start to lose, I don't give up. I try to compensate by roaming, supporting (wards, peel for the fed player in my team etc) and thanks to this, despite having some times very very bad KDA, I was able to win the game. Why ? Because LoL, despite everything we can say, is a team-based game.

Been playing since season 2. Never had any chat restriction or was warned by the Tribunal. Heh.

But frankly, I think it depends on the personality of each one of us. Many people are assholes in one way or another and it just translates into the game. And yes, it sucks.
