Getting Banned for Leaving a game!

Listen I know its good to punish the people who leave games and make you and your team lose but, I hate having to wait 20 minutes for 5 games just because I had to eat lunch or go somewhere or maybe a power outage. Most people have pretty strict parents and they can't say no and just continue the game. So I think RIOT should have a system where if you left a game you have a chance to explain yourself on why you left, they can review it and come back to you and tell you if you get the punished or not. If you have strict parents, or it's close to lunch time, don't que up for a game. When you leave a game, you ruin the experience for everyone. The team playing as 5 easily stomp the team of 4 so the team of 5 doesn't learn anything. The team of 4 have to fight that much harder to get that victory at the end. I get it, real life happens sometimes. But if you know that you don't have time to finish a full game, then don't que up.

Riot has no way to confirm if the person is telling the truth. This would be extremely abusable and probably slow down ticket response time even more.

for getting 20min penalty you have to leave a damn lot! lunch is usually around the same time. dont start a game when its lunch time you ruin the fun for 4 othery (maybe even 9 if the enemy prefers a fair match) and still you complain?

Working in a call center in workforce management, we used to give consideration to "special cases" when it came to absenteeism. We then found that one of our employees had had 11 grand parents die that he had to go to a funeral for (I'll let you do the math on that one), but he would give the funeral program to a different workforce person every time so he flew under the radar for some time.

Another instance; we had one user who has severe medical issues; she wasn't at one year yet, so didn't qualify for FMLA and she needed consideration for absenteeism or she'd be terminated. In the short term, we gave her clearance and she was able to continue working. She then posted pictures of a trip to Las Vegas where she'd taken time off for her "medical issues".

Two instances of absolute clear cut times where as a company you should make considerations. Then you find out people are taking advantage and the minority ruin it for the majority. Riot can't afford to look at the world through colored glasses. it's black and white. Why spend money taking the time to find out who's telling the truth and who's lying? Keep it sterile and anyone who leaves a game, regardless of the reason, get's punished.

You don't get punished by Leaverbuster for a single instance, you only get punished when you show a pattern of leaving multiple games. Riot knows that sometimes shit happens, which is why they designed Leaverbuster with some leniency.

The fact that you have the 20 minute wait shows that you have been punished by Leaverbuster before, as the 20 minute wait isn't given as a first punishment. This means that you have left many games, using up that leniency and then some. If you wish to continue to play without having this punishment anymore, you need to learn how to manage your time better, and try to work out an arrangement with your parents so that you could play a game or two uninterrupted.

I was wondering if I would get perma banned if I left from one bot game summoner's rift half way done, another bot game summoner's rift almost done and one normal blind pick game twisted treeline half way done. This was over the span of four months. Is there any way that you can know how close you are to getting perma banned???

They should not because that gives an advantage to people who do leave due to bad team and its like lying. Then everyone will get away with it!

The only reason a person should be not punished is when their isp is actually down and people report that the isp in the area is down. This happened recently with me and Spectrum. Other than that, people should get banned for leaving games.

Regarding this, I've seen way too many people always saying "I need to go eat lunch so I have to leave". If you knew you had to eat soon and you still queued and found a game, you NEED to play it whether or not your mum is shouting at you or not.
