I wish there was a way to show people how many games they've played with groups of 4 that went completely normal or were positive experiences. I know my last time with a group of 4 they were all perfectly pleasant to play with, willing to adapt around me - the odd man out.

It's not all 4 man groups, it's that 4 man group you've got a problem with.

So wait why again can't i play with 3 friends in a video game, i don't see what the issue is, he afked it happens maybe they didn't know he was going to and it just popped out of nowhere. Your lucky they did ff, most of the time even if someone afk's i would keep playing to try and get them leaver buster.
