Curious -- what is Riot's offical stance on "KYS" and racially-offensive names/club tags?

Some say that "KYS" is an automatic chat restriction. Others think that it only counts as a flag.

What about clearly derogatory names? i.e. FK U CHI NA MAN

I'm curious, because as a player who gets reported frequently for going off-meta, I've gotten a 10-game chat restriction for cursing & getting angry in ** 1** game that showed up in my log. I've seen staff members say that context matters, but it seems that it most often does not (because it's usually handled by an automated system).

Yet, I've reported players who have said "kys" or those who have pretty obviously insulting names... and nothing. They're not even forced to change their name (and honestly they should be forced to make another account).

The conclusion I can draw from this is that Riot doesn't care enough to separate the difference between intentionally being a dick & getting mad because people are being dicks towards you (yeah yeah yeah, most of you are all perfect non-reactionary people).

Change my mind.

I don't know specifics on how their system handles offensive name reports, but I do know that those sorts of tags/names are absolutely not tolerated and (at least if they get flagged and reviewed) will have to change; people that repeatedly use these sorts of names after a forced name change will just be banned.

If you report an extremely offensive name and it isn't getting changed after a while, feel free to submit a Support Ticket.

The automated system does not pick up on everything. I had 3 players tell me to kms in the same game and they never received a 14 day ban. Leveled up a new account constantly got a dude named "Raping Asians" on my team. His name still isn't changed and it's been weeks. I have played with toxic club names so often that I don't even know why Riot implemented the feature.
