What's your reset?

When you have a bad game and you know you're almost on tilt, what do you do to regain your calm before the next match?

I'll be honest, I clean. If I have a couple of crappy outings, my house starts to look like a hotel.

i'm a math person...so my reset is that statistically my next match should be better than my last.

If I can't tear myself away, ARAM. ARAM helps. In more extreme cases, I'll just wail 1v5 on beginner bots for a while to make myself feel better. And troll them about how frustrated I am.

But, otherwise, I'll typically do something more productive, like laundry or organizing or some form of cleaning. Maybe I'll play Fatal Frame 2 because it's my favorite game.

Or sometimes I'll just walk outside and get some fresh air, because the weather's usually pretty nice here.

The thing is, I have to write these things down, because if I'm really, really upset (typically after losing promos or getting demoted), I can't think of any of these things.

My reset is either playing another, less stressful game, or just reading.

Reading is great, you guys.

I go and play my Darkest Hour/Hearts of Iron game as the Soviet Union. It's progressed to about 1960 now and I always have more elaborate plans to deploy my troops towards. Just give me a reason, Western Europe.

your point is to go play with the cat to calm ourselves?

then can you provide another method to when you know a rager did report you for the purpose of seeing you permanent banned?

and then you fight that rager and you did not succeed? or what about that you did good a t a game and then you end up with a feeder, a afker or worse Toxiccity?

Will a cat be able to calm us down? if that where to happen? CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT?!

Food, usually food.

Kind of my universal 'calm down' action is to step away and have a snack, or a meal, or cook something. It will ease me off, fill my stomach, and put me back on an even temperament.

If I'm not hungry, YouTube. Watch something stupid, or in the extreme case, watch Wood Division and feel good about myself.

In no particular order

  1. Switch playlists to something more calming or upbeat.

  2. Read

  3. Go biking/running/to the gym for a bit

  4. Watch MST3K (I really can't stay make at Mike/Joel and the 'bots)

  5. Write fanfiction

  6. Sleep. I often play at night, so...

  7. Change games (usually something either single player, or something that feels like I'm soloing)
