Punished for wanting to play

So I've been playing this game for over 5 years now, and as you can imagine I've dealt with some toxic teammates in my time, but this time really just takes the cake for me, now yes I realize I probably could and should have just muted them and moved on (generally pretty sound advice) but this is an issue I've dealt with a lot recently and more to the point that I as a player really need to hear Riot's view on this and what is being done about it. I just had a game where my team lost hard bot lane and generally all over, except me in top where I was crushing and generally enjoying myself. Right at the 15 min my team attempts an early surrender, I think we can still win and more than that, I'm having fun, so I decline. What follows is the majority of my team raging at me, spamming pings, and generally just taking shots at me for wanting to play a game. They call me a dick and selfish and say I'm holding them hostage. They spend most of their time typing or spam pinging me and instead of fighting literally sit back and watch me die.

Like I said I'm tired of this, people get into game and when it turns south and they decide they're done they make life hell for anyone who wants to continue enjoying the GAME. I personally (and correct me if I'm wrong but I feel it's supposed to be this way) feel that when you decide to queue into a match you are committing yourself to playing the game as well as you can and to stick with it until it ends, if you want to ff you may, but only if the team agrees, and so until a nexus blows you will keep playing. I feel so bullied so often when I just want to play the game, and yes again I know I should probably mute my team if it goes that way, but muting doesn't stop me from getting nasty postgame comments thrown at me well I'm looking at stats, nor does it stop my team from running in circles while I die. I like League a lot, I think generally it's a pretty neat thing, but when this kinda stuff happens it just leaves me feeling like crap and is not good for my depression.

But retaliating does?

Flaming them means it's literally only going to get worse. They'll be encouraged to trigger you more, because you had a fun reaction.

Now if you just mute, and don't react, they'll have ALOT less fun trolling you.

Of course trolling isn't acceptable in any situation, but flaming isn't either. By flaming those who are trolling you'll only end up with more trolling.
