Will this actually get me in trouble?

  • Me and bot were picking at the same time (I'm supp)
  • We both had Senna hovered
  • I managed to get her first.

So he picks Corki. Okay. No problem with that, I can dig a cool off-meta botlane pick.

He doesn't leash... Okay. That's fine. I still help my JG the best I can and get to lane in time to get XP from the first 3 minions.

I begin to poke and use my Q to poke the enemy the best I can. Corki just... Farms. That's all he does. He's farming and farming and farming. Okay fine, he's playing passive. That's cool. I can dig it.

He proceeds to yell at me for "ruining his freeze and taking CS" when I... Have no CS at all. I'm auto attacking minions and using my Q to poke, sure, but I'm not taking CS. I have spellthief's after all so if I take CS I can't poke and earn gold from it.

I get a really good stun off and go in to do some extra damage. Corki deliberately backs off and goes under his own tower while I proceed to 1v2... I end up getting out but I had to burn flash in order to do so.

I ask Corki why he didn't come in with me. He says "You're ruining my freeze and got hit by cc, so I backed off" when he backed off before the fight even began.

Okay, whatever.

At this point he's still under our tower yelling at me for ruining his freeze... He isn't even close enough to get XP from minions. I'm level 6, he's level 4.

I decide to tell him "Hey, if you wanna farm, I'm gonna let you farm. I'll leave lane" and proceed to roam. I help secure drake, I help get a kill toplane, and I help secure rift as well and after that I head mid to help Zed get some tower plates.

Corki then tells everyone in all chat to report me for being toxic, and for leaving him to a 1v2.

???

I was never rude to him. The "rudest" thing I did was leave lane to let him farm since he was yelling at me the entire time. I was two levels ahead of him and figured that I'd be more use around the map rather than sitting bot and letting him farm. Yeah, I left him to 1v2, but I didn't think that wasn't allowed ESPECIALLY since he wasn't cooperating with me at all during the lane phase.

We ultimately ended up winning but Corki had almost 0 KP until around the end of the game. He AFK farmed bot for the majority of the entire game and only roamed about 10 minutes before they actually surrendered.

He proceeded to again tell everyone in post-game to report me for toxicity.

Is this actually bannable? I wasn't rude. Didn't call him names. He was tilting me, yes, so I left lane to leave an impact on other areas of the map (which in the end paid off bc we got so many objectives off of it).

I don't think you're in any danger of being punished. I'd reckon Corki would be, if reported for deliberately AFK-farming all game, but you? You made the best of a bad situation. There's no rule stating that a Support has to stick by their bottom laner, much less when that bottom laner insists that the Support is somehow "ruining his farm/freeze/etc."

And, at the end of the day, you were ultimately playing to win, not to put your team at a disadvantage. That alone is enough to ensure you won't get punished.

Is this a fun post ?

You won't be banned for playing the game you like until you do not feed the enemy intentionally. (in theory, this is the rule)

If you haven't said anything bad, you have 120% protection against banns. Go and play another Senna match, you'll be fine.

He's probably saying your taking cs because your auto-attacking them. Some people aren't very good at farming, so when their support is constantly attacking them, it may put them off. At least that's what I've heard people say anyway

Just mute everyone and never talk to anyone at all. You wont really get in trouble. Unless you go like 0-25 or something.

You didn't play 80% winrate smite singed support so you're fine

Corki is just another salty troll. Ure Rome u did the right thing anyway.

No it won't. Riot doesn't punish players just because other salty players ask to, well maybe except when it comes to nightblue3 sometimes, but no, nothing will happen to you, don't worry at all.

Doesn't really seem toxic or griefing that you'd leave lane when you were being flamed. First of all, who wants to play in a lane with a toxic player? Probably not a single rational person, ever.

Anyways, League has a meta for sure. 2 people always go bot, and Riot has reinforced the metas throughout the years. However, meta does not necessarily mean the game winning strategy, every time. Meta is more so, a common ground. It's the solid strategies, and champion picks, that have just worked over the years. It just makes the game easier to play with other people, because everyone is on a similar page. There are definitely off meta situations that work out really well, and it's silly to be punished for trying to do something new or different, if you think it will help you win.

You are in the clear! Leaving bot to roam as support is something I see often in my games. Not even as a "screw you adc, Ima leave you", more just a "bot isn't going too hot but I can help secure ____".

As an ADC, it sucks when your support leaves and you have to 1v2, but sometimes that's what needs to be done to win.

You did mention you were auto-attacking minnions (not CSing), which can be infuriating for some ADC's. Honorable ADC's will just let you know to stop as they are trying to freeze the wave. If the minnions aren't under tower in the early game (and therefore need an extra auto sometimes), you usually don't need to auto minnions unless you're pushing. Again, an honorable ADC will usually let you know their intentions and tell you to help them push.

Your Corki did not sound like an honorable ADC. While that sucks, it sounds like you made the best of it (good on you for that!).

Hope your future games are with better mannered ADC's :)

I thought this was about "breaking the freeze" and I was gonna say "making a bad choice isn't reportable"

Roaming when an ADC tells you to leave isn't reportable either unless you're gone at like lv 1 and never touch a lane. This is similar to junglers not ganking a losing lane, it's better to help the rest of the map

Don't mind him... hes just upset he didn't get the support so now he wants to drag everyone down with him with his fit. Long as you don't feed into it your fine. You roamed, didn't flame back and presumably did your best to win with a crybaby... sounds like you did all you can to win while keeping a cool temper and frankly that's all you can really ask of someone. And in terms of bans... I was in a duo with my friend... as a joke he said "KYS" followed by the N Word... 2 minutes later (after game whilst still in after game stats) he got a 2 week ban... Long as you don't say specific words and focus on keeping a cool and non aggressive temper you're fine.

Riot cares about chat violations and only very rarely about gameplay violations, unfortunately. However, you did nothing wrong based on what you said here. Someone hovering a champion does not give them the right to that champion. Banning a hovered champion is potentially a violation of the ToS but merely picking a champion first is not.
