"YUUMI IS USELESS"

Over the past few days people have harassed me, flamed me, and intentionally griefed me due to me picking Yuumi in champ select.

Hovering her made someone ban her almost 80% of the time so I just stopped hovering her until the ban phase was over.

In my last game i did more damage than our jungle, our adc, and our top and I still got flamed in post game chat being called useless and that it was basically a 4v5 because of my pick.

I understand the negative stigma but usually when we win games when I'm yuumi its because I have a positive impact on the team showing that she ISNT absolutely useless and is actually quite good in the right hands.

Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this flame? I can obviously mute during the game but most of the flame and harassment show up in pre game and post game chat. To the point where I pick Yuumi and someone on the team just says "gg we lost already so I wont try this game" and flames until the game starts and I'm able to mute.

It's kind of sucking the fun out of playing the champ as a whole.

Well, Yuumi's power is more subtle, so people don't feel the oomph as much as someone flashy like Leona or Blitz. No suprise that people don't appreciate her as much.

You just need to get really good with her and it will shut people up. If you can control the laning phase and allow your ADC to free farm, then they won't complain. But please don't just stay attached to your bot laner partner firing off Qs and say you are helping. That essentially makes you a 1v2 bot lane and you lose out on alot of pressure.

Just point how how superior they are to you by doing 3k less damage then you did, compliment them about how impressive achievement that is.

My personal favorite was an udyr who screamed its useless to gank a lane with Yuumi in it she trash and to prove it he came to gank our lane and i secured our adc a tripple kill, never seen someone shut up so fast before in my life.

It's all on you. League is a team game and working with your team is part of it, if this was norms I would say there being dicks but it's ranked people don't want new champions on there team and you playing them just makes them mad. Even if you did good with it doesn't matter. Yuumi is also a very different support meaning lot of players don't want her on there team because of that.

Don't try new champions in ranked or asked in lobby if you can play her, those are your only options if you don't want to get flamed.

Since when are we measuring how useful you were on enchanters by damage?

Well, usually it's all about the mood, be open-minded, optimistic and ignore flamers, best way to start off a game is to say "hello" and finishing by a "gg wp", try to compliment others when they do well and to not feed trolls with any form of reply when they harrass you.

-> If you see that people aren't really agreeing on you picking Yuumi, go for another support, maybe a more explicit champ, Thresh or Braum are good examples, they are less "Backing support" but one will definitely CC more and be in front while the other will definitely defend and protect more any ally in trouble !

-> Somehow it reminds me of Ivern, Really bad DMG dealer but have game changing mechanics, sad that nowadays it's all about dealing damages.

Hope you enjoy your next games, I tried Yuumi a couple games, each time the ADC was having trouble knowing what to do so I kind of agree it can be a weird new mechanic for others.

I guess try to get a pre-made 5 or majority pre-made or wait until next patch? I just played a game with pre-made 3+ (3 of them have same club tag) and one hovered yummi. No one said anything, no one banned yummi. The Jungle helped first picked Yummi for the Support. No one said anything, game went poorly at fist then pick up late game. Wouldn't say Yummi was impactful, but neither was she useless. We lost eventually. No one said anything. I normally ban all new and reworked champ until at least next patch or the patch after regardless of hover, but I just wanted to play a game and not have to wait for dodge timer or deal with pissy teammates (not in the mood).

In any case, if it is getting to the point that it is no longer fun to pick Yummi, I suggest you wait a bit for that champ to be flesh out or Rito fiddles with her next patch (as they always does a few patches after a new champ is released or reworked) and play something else you normally play before that Yummi patch.
