@Riot - We should have 0 tolerance against players encouring others to commit suicide

I've received several "KYS" messages in ranked from time to time and it really pisses me off that they can say that without repercussions. I have the thick skin to deal with it but imagine someone else having a really bad day and this one message just pushes them over the edge. Giving a player flak for performing poorly is one thing but telling them to end their life is dangerous. I think players should automatically receive warnings for saying stuff like this and if they keep committing the same act, ban them.

They do issue bans pretty quickly for that kind of behavior. If you think your report isn't enough, feel free to screenshot the behavior (they like screenshots) and submit it and the match history link in a Support Ticket.

I think they already do. Someone still needs to report the person who said it to get them punished, but there's not much tolerance on that one.

I think a chat ban at least should be used if someone tells another player to kill themselves. A warning just won't do

My GF has been dealing with depression and thoughts of suicide and numerous times after a match she would break down crying because of some of the shit people would say to her in game. I've seen people insult her, her play style, call her a waste of space, telling her to kill herself, etc etc. When she brings up the fact that she has tried to kill herself before the players would respond with something like "try again and do it rigth this time". Everytime I saw this happen I would report it and give a very detailed account of what happened and yet nothing is ever done.

Telling some one to kill themselves can be very serous on the internet. People hide behind silver screens, and would never say that in real life if they had any slice of humanity. Cyber bullying isn't a joke, and it shouldn't be taken as such. I haven't read the actual laws in Canada about it, but death threats or verbal abuse containing suicide, should be perma banned without notice. In fact just Omniban the person, then file a lawsuit.

This thread needs to be noticed.

When someone tells me to go kill myself, I just run straight down mid and kill myself on the towers until the game is over. (Don't ban me Rito)

I think some phrases should be instant punishment for saying it once, even saying it a single time in a game should at least deserve a chat restriction, things like - kys, I hope you die of cancer, any autism insult, and hard racial slurs.

Things like that have no reason whatsoever being said in this game, and I can't tell you how many times I've reported people saying those things and them getting off scott free, usually friend requesting me and going on for days about how riot cant touch them ( I keep them friended to see if anything actually happens and usually delete after a few days)

I'd usually skip posts like these, but I recently witnessed the effects this stuff could have on people. Just two days ago a MineCraft server owner and at one point my best friend was found dead. Jumped from the 6th floor. Why? Alot of stress, mental issues and cyber-bullying. You never know who's on the other side of that cool and wacky gamertag so think twice before that "kys".

It should be automatic permanent ban, no questions. Thankfully, the current system more or less already does it fairly quickly.
