To the people who disliked Tyler1 since back when he was banned, how do you feel about him now?

I am curious because I distinctly remember that there was so much hate surrounding him back when he was banned to the point where people had personal vendettas against him in ranked where they sniped him to intentionally feed or troll in his games. There were also tons of hate threads , discussing how toxic he was. Then, it went quiet from the period that he got permabanned to the time when he announced that he would be unbanned. Then, the hate threads saw a resurgence and now people were hating on Riot for unbanning such a toxic player and so forth. Now, I haven't kept up at all what happened basically a year ago since his unban. Hes basically become one of the faces of the LoL community, becoming one of the big guests at LoL events and Riot made it clear that they like Tyler1 now. What was the community's reaction to this, particularly of those who previously disliked Tyler1?

In case you are wondering, I am a fan of Tyler1. I've watching him since he was still in college and just started streaming league from his dorm/apartment. I am really curious about how the public view of him has changed this past year.

I hate those that are toxic without a reason. He should not have become such a well known person in League community, and i have no idea how it happened. People like assholes, i guess.

Honestly, what I saw of him around the start of the ban was so distasteful I don't ever want to watch him stream again. Even when people have tried to put together "the best of Tyler1" montages to show he's changed he still comes off as annoying/over the top/targeting a drastically younger audience, to the extent that I'd rather not watch anything than watch him.

Imo his ban should've never been lifted. After issuing the personal ban, Riot simply should've dropped the topic forever, permabanning every single account of him they detect (and not just those he used to stream).

The way they handled it, he actually got rewarded. He got much, much more attention because of this ban, which, after it was lifted, resulted in more views/followers, income etc etc.

Bad role model. He knows lots of young people watch his stream, and he's setting an absolutely shitty example for them.

unredeemable. The fact that riot allows him to stream again shows how much they value free advertising over quality player interactions.

He's insufferable but i get why he's popular, What i HATED was the fact that riot buckled to his prepubescent fanbases screeching. He broke the rules he got banned but just because hes a streamer the rules don't apply to him and him intentionally ruining games becomes an alright thing, his followers learn from him too so it's not just an isolated problem with him they all imitate him in attempt to be cool.

If you're a big fan, you'd know he just quit

He's just as noisy as before when I see him on the LoL highlights in youtube.

Still hurts my ears, still have to turn down my volume.

Respect his skill as a player, hate his persona and attitude, but as long as it doesn't leak into chat or actions in game (flaming inting ect.) I guess I don't really care if he is unbanned

I feel like he never should have been unbanned. Riot went back on their word and that means if they ever say something like they're banning a player for life again or even just that they really care about trying to get people to not be toxic why should I ever trust them? He earned his permaban and now every time I see Riot working with him in any way it makes me roll my eyes.

In regards to his current attitude: it's just painful to watch. Every time I see him I'm just like, "someone get this man help and stop parading him around on tv like a freak show." I guess that's better than him just being an ass...

I find Tyler1 as an overrated individual, he’s honestly very uncomfortable to watch and I don’t understand how people can stand him

He is still an ass. That's his thing he screams and yells and thinks he's all that. Also Riot will never un-ban a normal player but they made and exception for him. Even though he deserved it. Like deserved it more then anyone.

I've never had anything against him. He's entertaining. He has the skills to back his ego. And like it or not he's changed a lot since his pre-ban days. Wasn't his only real issue intentional feeding? I doubt that Riot cares about his constant shit talking on stream, since they openly suggest that players talk shit out loud so they don't feel the need to type it in-game.
