Don't say gg if....
You were bad. That is all.
You were bad. That is all.
GG is like a handshake after the match.
Saying it is just polite.
I take issue with the "saying GG because it's polite" bit. Sure, I had to hand slap the other team members after the youth league baseball game where the score was twelve to nothing and I was on the team that had no score. But I got a free soda afterwards for doing so. Coach wouldn't allow me to have the soda if I didn't do this.
I rarely say "GG" if it wasn't. If it was hard fought and well earned, I'll say it. I may even honor the other team post game. But just throwing out a "GG" is empty praise. Someone trying to be polite when they walloped us with double digit kills in under twenty minutes may think they're being polite. But it also can be seen as a sign of dominance. Oh, yeah? Why are you saying it was a good game? Was it good because you had to earn that victory? Or are you just saying that as half sportsmanship, half "I rule you" bit? Insincere is insincere. I'm not going to waste time acknowledging your ego. Nor will I waste time listening to a sarcastic team mate say "GG" because their mistakes contributed to the team losing. I'm far from perfect myself. But I still won't say something I don't mean.
op you're bronze you're literally always bad
EzLifeEzGame is much more polite I agree. If you were 0/12, say that at end game - people like OP will respect you.
gg
GG literally means "good game". Maybe I'm just being autistic here but I don't say it if it wasn't. Lying to be polite is something I never do, I would rather say nothing.
Don't say GG to
. You will get reported by babies and banned.
I've taken to using "well played" more than "gg", because I definitely understand how "good game" isn't pleasing to people who just suffered through a 5v3 stompfest.
You sound like a delightful player to have a match with.
I legitimately enjoy playing certain champions, like Singed or Gangplank. Even if the game is a onesided slaughterfest that kicks my ass, I still have fun playing them. I'd imagine it's the same for quite a lot of players playing their mains, too.
Also what constitutes as bad? How would you know that, OP? Do you go around calling players bad whenever you lose to them? You can't even blame someone for playing wrong either, it just means they didn't play right or have/apply the right game knowledge.
It might have been a good game for them.....
and how do you determine who was bad?
A lot of it is timing and context too.
Let's say, for example, the game actually IS good, and its fairly late in game (inhibitors down for both teams, both teams near the middle of the map trying not to give up Baron control) and I'm Evelynn.
I'm walking around the jungle and I spot Ashe just a little outside of her support's range and I instantly vaporize her.
Then the GGs come out. Maybe the battle was hard fought and, knowing the game is over, you want to acknowledge it was a good one...
... But I'm pretty sure all that Ashe hears is "that's it... That one play just lost us/them the game... Nice going Ashe"
GG is for those who would rather not take the time to properly congratulate someone.
GG can be anything.
I'd rather take the few seconds and type out a full congratulatory remark if it's deserved.
i only say gg if it was actually a good game. i hate one sided games whether im winning or losing. its a little insulting when you say gg and all that happened was my team dying over and over again. like....literally how is that a good game for us?
I say gg at the end of almost every game, no matter the outcome, because I like to be polite and act like a good sport. Sometimes I add "wp" to the end if it was a really fun game, no matter if we win or lose.
