How old is too old for league?
Just curious of the public opinion. I'm going to be 25 this year and I feel really old playing this game....

Your never to old for video games... stop thinking of what is socialy accepted and do what makes you happy
Asking how old is too old for league is like asking how old is too old to like ice cream...
I was buying Lich King for WoW years ago and while in line an approx 65 yr old man proceeded to chat me up and tell me how he has multiple level 70 toons and how excited he was for Lich King. Grow old, never grow up!
There are two times that you're too old for League:
My Grandfather plays this game quite often and he is 70 and will be 71 next January.
34 here. plays daily.
Some of the rhetoric used on here is pretty nonchalant. I will try and give you a counter argument because all of the opinions here are biased. You're not supposed to ask a crackhead if doing crack is bad, they will never give you a reliable answer. When you're older you find yourself having more responsibilities in your life. Here's a list of things to look for as to why you should quit the game:
Quit the game if you find it is negatively affecting any longterm life goals you have for yourself. If it is negatively impacting your career, quit. If you're losing sleep over the game, quit. If you want to have a family of your own one day and you do not have a significant other, quit. If you do have a significant other and things are starting to get rocky, quit. If you feel like playing the game feels more like babysitting then quit. If you always wanted to get in shape and can't find time to work out quit the game and get in shape. If you're spending money on this game consistently and finding yourself short on cash for essential things like putting gas in your car then quit the game. If you're losing close friends you have known for years over the game then quit.
In short, if there's things in your life that are of value and you find yourself prioritizing the game over that stuff then quit. You have to commit a lot of time and effort into this game in order to succeed here, but that is secondary to everything else.
I'm turning 25 on Friday, I've been playing games since I was a toddler. Nothing is going to stop me from what I enjoy doing.
how old is too old to play chess? golf? tennis? soccer?
Well... I mean... whenever you can no longer play? So..... considering you hit your physical peak around 35, I'd say probably around your 60's to 70's your going to have trouble playing this game effectively and it might be time to let go. You can always move on to farmville or something like the sims though if you still want to play games. Oh or you can play call of duty.
I'm about your age. I've got co-workers who are older than me and have kids in school, yet they still play League.
No such thing my friend. I am 26 and I play 3-4 times a week still! Pretty much going along with what everyone else is saying, DO NOT get caught up in what you THINK people will think of you. Most often times, people are not judging you, and if they are, let them waste their damn time because who cares what they think? If league is still fun for you, then see you on the rift OLD buddy.
I'm 36 and don't think there is any age that is too old.
The real question should be "when are people to young to be playing online.
Growing up doesn't mean you have to grow up! Adults are just toddlers that have to do their own taxes, remember that.
I've been playing video games/ watching people play videos games for about 15 years or so, just turned 22 a couple months ago. I can't stand societies views on gaming. Saying it causes violence is like saying having a gun makes you a bad person. I'd rather be playing League than going out every weekend to the club getting turnt up and shit not being able to remember the night before. Let's just just say I like to keep control of my faculties. I have a cousin who's about 25, him and his wife still play League, and WoW, have both Xbox One and PS4.
I'm in your boat pal, gonna be 25 in December. I've been playing since I was about 5 (I remember unboxing my Nintendo 64) and I'll probably still play until my hands are too shot with arthritis to hold a controller. But by then, mind controllers will probably be a thing, so no worries. :D
It gets much harder as you get older. Your reactions are slower, but that is only part of the picture. You also get worse at visuo-spatial tasks like keeping track of multiple moving targets in a furious team fight. Consequently, I find I do better on characters that can either stay back a bit or that are tanky enough to survive my sluggish processing. Your brain is less flexible... less good at improvising strategy. Still fine at applying learned strategies of course as that is crystallised intelligence which falls off less quickly, if at all.
You also need a thick skin because you will get flamed by people frustrated by your lack of ability. Even playing in Bronze where one might expect people to be relaxed about such things (because let's face it, if they're any good themselves they will soon be out of Bronze).
When/if there were enough people playing league I would wish for a seniors league like we have in other sports. No one expects 55 year olds in rugby to compete with 25 year olds! It's obvious they would almost always be at a huge disadvantage.
age only matters if you are thinking of going pro.
Dude. Think about how old some of the guys at Riot are. Keep it strong. I will also be 25 this year, and I ain't quitting.
I'm 31 and while I hate dealing with the younger and immature players, I don't feel too old to enjoy it.
Gaming is a hobby I've had since I was a kid and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
26 here.
Disregard appropriate life choices, acquire ELO.
Yeh LSC players are mostly under 25. Main reasons: reaction time/learning curve to continually stay on top of competitive changing playstyles, and day to day life of a professional gamer is hard on the body. (sitting for long hours with no breaks is horrible on your heart and legs, limited exercise, mostly poor sleep and eating habits, stress, etc, etc.) But you're talking like a loss of around 2% reaction time from 25-30, then another 1% or 2 from 30-40. But that 1-3% can keep you from being 'the best' but it's not gonna keep you from being pretty damn good if you're trying. Also, there's still some pro's over 25, so even that's not out of the question.
Age limit? When your eyesight is failing to the point you can't see to aim skillshots. Possibly late 80's, and that's assuming medical science doesn't fix that by that time. I wouldn't worry about it too much for now. ;)
I'm 27 and I don't feel even close to 'too old.' Though I'm not attempting to 'go pro' or anything.
23 is to old to play.
Better question: How young is too young to play Call of Duty?
Seriously though your age isn't something you should let determine your interests (cept maybe the ones that can get you into legal trouble) League is a game made to be enjoyed by everyone of all ages.
Age means nothing as long as you enjoy the game.
There is no "too old". Some grandpa (78 years i think) plays a lot of Battlefield and isn't even that bad. Sure, the reaction times might be a bit lower than if you are younger, but come on. 25 years is by far not old. Let's talk again when you are going towards 50 ;P
Considering you are old enough to have a good job to pay for skins, you are the prime age in riot's eyes.
