Why are players allowed to ruin matches?

So basically the title... Why does Riot not punish people that ruin matches, and waste the time of up to 9 people. They punish people for calling someone bad, or asking them to last hit or to dodge abilities or for saying ggez...if people are sensitive enough to be offended by words from a stranger on the internet they can always mute it or look away like a big boy/girl. The thing is, there is no button to "mute" or stop a teammate from int feeding for 20-40 minutes...but he doesn't get punished. I just have to accept that, well this guy is either totally inept or purposely ruining the game and sit there for 20-40+ minutes waiting/hoping the other team can end the game, because that guy is going to refuse the surrender anyway. Can't afk cuz I'll get punished, can't say anything cuz I'll get punished.

I have come across dozens of accounts of players that run it down immediately when they respawn, 20-30 times a match and they don't get punished for weeks/months/years, sent Riot emails with said account names and those accounts are still playing, still running it down match after match...but if I use text, banned damn quick. I understand Riot is just a small indie company with not much money, but I'd think they could hire a couple people off the sales of skins for the most recent broken champion they release/rework to check match history of int feeders and see that they do it game after game, week after week and punish them. Maybe hire a programmer to set something up to detect it... then again, they can't even hire ones competent enough to handle the actual game so, I duno. Doesn't make sense why they would allow their matches to be ruined and not care at all, I'd imagine the terrible quality of so many of the matches leads to a lot of the toxicity that this community is famous for. Seems ass backwards to me. Teach the player base to worry more about reporting people for using words that they can mute, instead of improving, learning or having fun. I couldn't even imagine being sensitive enough to want someone to be banned from a video game for saying things to me...I don't think anyone should be banned unless they cheat or ruin the game though, but I'm just a stupid, toxic person. Definitely makes sense why NA is so terrible though, both solo queue and competitively.

they can always mute it or look away like a big boy/girl

neither of those means we can't report as well on top of it. which is how it's meant to be handled

but he doesn't get punished

as a regular on these boards, i beg to differ

but I'd think they could hire a couple people off the sales of skins for the most recent broken champion they release/rework to check match history of int feeders and see that they do it game after game, week after week and punish them

do you have the slightest ideea how many people it would take to manually review the daily spam of reports?

even if the company was owned by Scrooge McDuck. if riot employed enough people to handle this particular thing, they'd go bankrupt. in an hour

Maybe hire a programmer to set something up to detect it...

unless you, yourself, are a programmer and are willing to set them up with your program that does this miraculous detection, you should stop fantesizing about "what if"s

I couldn't even imagine being sensitive enough to want someone to be banned from a video game for saying things to me

as for me, I couldn't even imagine being sensitive enough to flame someone else for not being faker and making mistakes as often as i do

but to each her/his own

Because they encourage a toxic troll community

OP, I would just like to throw in my opinion here for you, happy if it can bring anything.

Basically, your mindset influences a lot how you perceive the experience of getting griefed by a teammate. Some days I just want to win so bad and I'll get mad at the feeder. And then there will be one in the enemy team a couple games later and I won't notice. So when I have this mindset, I'm setting myself up for fail because I'll always think the game is rigged against me for simply not noticing that feeders are pretty much evenly distributed.

That's not even factoring in when I am the feeder, too.

So basically before asking Riot to fix this, which is pretty difficult considering it goes with how you feel about it, there is some great room for improvement in keeping your focus away from feeders or griefers and actually trying to play your best whatever the handicap you're being given.

Best wishes and keep your cool!

In the past few weeks ive seen 5 threads of people getting banned for inting. They arent allowed by any means. Some people getting away with it doesnt mean its allowed, thats such a simpleton thought. Just keep reporting people, thats all you can do, outside of making a thread similar to this and quitting the game. I dont blame you for expressing your displeasure with their moderation of trolls. You are just bad at communicating because you say irrational shit like "why are they allowed to..." just because you've seen it many times.

So yeah, express your disappointment, and then stop supporting the game. Or look deeper, find that they do ban players for inting, and use reason to rationalize how hard it must be to catch all the players breaking the rules without banning innocent players that got outplayed badly in a mismatch. Dont expect perfection. Theyre just a company trying to moderate MILLIONS of players. Honestly though in the end, if it ruins your experience, stop supporting the game by playing it. Just being pragmatic. Not saying you should just quit cuz fuck you, I really mean, thats the most effective thing you can do to get them to be more strict. They will probably have to enforce some sort of meta if enough people quit the game because of trolling bs.

NA is terrible not because of this. Its the ping problem aside from not having enough talent. We have enough population. Almost 8 times the population of South Korea (With US + Canada combined). Then, the question comes. Where is all the talent? Unlike Koreans who all play online games. Not everyone in NA, or should I say.. not every Faker from NA has actually found his talent in League. Assuming that we have 8 hidden Faker's to Korea's 1 Faker (based on pop. ratio). Ours are still hidden in the bush because they probably have never played League or not taken as much interest in it, realized their talent in it. USA/Canada have so many sports and activities unlike Korea which has limited amount of space for fun.

Now, back to topic OP. Riot does have issues realizing if someone is actually inting or just being inept at the game. Simply submit a ticket manually to solve this issue. If you got screenshots of them confessing to running down, more power to you.
