Do you need to play the game before ranked at level 30 (at all?)

I met a Cho'gath player that seemed to have literally no clue how to play and it was ranked (granted bronze, but still.)

He said it was his second game ever after the game and never typed a single thing in chat, made tons of illogical decisions.

Is it possible to reach level 30 without knowing how items work? (I think that's still the requirement for the first ranked game ever, yes?

You can lvl to 30 just playing co-op. Friend.of mine did that he mainly played ad annie. As soon as he reached 30 he went into ranked and placed bronze. But he had fun playing so guess thats all that matters

There are lots of people who sell accounts. It's possible they bought an account that had been leveled to 30 by bots.

Yes you need to level to 30 before you can play ranked. This guy was either lying, or playing a friends account or bought an account or something.
