Do my reports in the end game screen do anything?

I have recently played with many people who were toxic all game long and i reported them afterward and nothing has happened to them. I checked up on their op.gg pages and they are still playing games without, what looks like, a single 24 hour ban. I am just curious if Riot actually looks at what I have to say with reporting or if i should just give up trying to have a better playing experience. Lately been thinking about not playing ranked because I cant get into a game without someone inting or flaming me or other toxic behaviors. I tried /mute all but it does not stop them from inting or ruining my player experience. Thank you to whomever responds to this.

They do. Peruse the player behavior boards for proof.

Short answer, "yes" with an "if"

Long answer, "no" with a "but"

Basically if they use homophobic slurs or are stupid enough to say the trigger words in the nifty automated system then, sure, they'll get banned. However, if they just do passive-aggressive behavior such as not grouping with the team, not communicating, saying "good job" every time your team gives up a kill or an objective or one of a million other examples of poor sportsmanship or bad behavior I can think of then, no, nothing will happen.

If they intentionally feed there's a SMALL CHANCE they'll get banned. I have 8 players still bookmarked in my browser that I have played with that intentionally fed in my game and do so in about 1/4th of their games and they are not banned as of yet. I did see one get banned and come to the forums recently and it was a pretty marginal case at best, so I'd say the chance isn't great but certainly exists.

But, if you use a skin changer, you will absolutely, 100% get banned, because while ruining games for others may be punishable, the perception of curring into Riot's potential profit margin as absolutely bannable. :)

It's as simple as that.
