Don't play other modes. If you go in with the idea that ranked is more important, just play ranked. Those of us that feel that all modes are just as important, don't want you ruining our game.

Plasma Servant2 votesIf you put your best effort in and you play to win, then I don't have a problem. It is when people goof off and say "It's just normals". Or they get all upset when you refuse to surrender when you get behind (surrender is NOT an option). Or they stop trying. I enter every game with the intent to win. I will NOT do negative comments during the game. I will try to encourage the rest of the team ... even in bots. Those that don't ought to lighten up in ranked to the same extent they do anywhere else ... all of league is just a game. That there are so many in ranked that take it way too seriously ... too much drama for a game ... is why I don't play ranked. I might be lvl 5 S for champion mastery, but I don't want to play ranked because of how many people are just tied up with rank. And then they take it down a notch when they are playing somewhere else.
Unless you are a pro, you ought to play ranked like it doesn't really matter. If you play tennis, bowl, play baseball ... whatever, do you play it not as a game even if you are in a league? Bowling leagues might be fun, but I'll never be a pro. I'm good at table tennis, but I'm not Olympic class. So if you aren't on a pro team, you probably ought to be playing it just like you would any other map/mode.

I will never tell someone how to play if they are putting their best effort forward, nor will I say anything if someone wants to play a typical AD champ as AP or the like. But if you use that excuse for being garbage then all you are is one of the sheep that think that everyone should play by the rules you sheep have created which is outside the realm of how Riot intended the game be played. In other words, you should be banned from the game for expecting others to think like you do. If you do not care or don't want too play the game as intended then GTFO and stay out. All modes matter according to RIOT.

Well, if ranked isn't fun, then shouldn't you also not play ranked? :D Seriously, if you don't think that ranked is fun, why are you beating your head against a wall?
If you just want to compare yourself to others, i.e., know how you are doing, wouldn't the mastery system work just as well? If you are a level 5 s teemo (which I am) doesn't that say about the same thing as being in a top rank? Sure, ranked means you are more than a one-pony-show (your fav can be banned, you might not be able to play mid, etc) but if you get to where you are level 5 S with 10 champions in most positions, I'd have to think you'd rank just as high if you were on a team of similar people.

seriously, the rankings is just your personal achievement in a game... does not makes you stronger during any games... who cares if you are bronze or diamond or whatever... if you do not know how to work with your teammates, you are still a noob to me(even if you are diamond 5)
Nyaboron3 votesOk noobs, this is how it works. 1: Ranked soloq is where you play your best, with your best champs, in your 2 best roles. Don't bring your personal problem bullshit here and don't play unless you're 100%. It's not just your LP at stake and I don't want you feeding in my games.
2: Norm draft pick is practice ranked. It's where you go to practice champs, I don't want to see someone playing a champ in ranked unless they have lvl 5 mastery or AT LEAST lvl 4. THIS IS WHERE YOU PRACTICE. THIS IS WHERE YOU PLAY IF YOU'RE HAVING A BAD TILT DAY. Don't troll in this mode, it's as serious as ranked but with none of the consequences.
3: Norm blind pick is where you goof around a bit, they can't see that you're adc bard until they're in loading screen, and then it's too late. Practice your OP shit that's permabanned, play high or drunk or whatever kids do to lose LP these days, just stay out of the rest of the queues.
4: ARAM is basically see above ↑
5: 3s, no one plays 3s. It's free diamond rewards if you grind it for a bit but no one is impressed.
6: Dominion. No comment.

Nyaboron1 votesIt's not just one man's opinion, it's how it is and always has been. Draft mode emulates how ranked is set up (bans and chronological pick alternation to allow for counterpicks and champion select strategy). That is why people practice in draft and naturally take it more seriously. If you want to cheese or dick around, you go to blind pick where the culture is a lot more laid back on account of no pick order and first one to call a role gets it, unless someone just straight locks it in. There is less strategy from there being no visible champion select, so it's considered less competitive. You get rewards for doing ranked; how other players view your skill at the game depends on your rank. Ranked counts and is the primary game mode for league of legends, that's why the lcs is summoners rift draft pick. The other modes are just for fun and are casual game types, or in the case of dominion, an experimental gametype that so few care about riot doesn't even update the map. It's okay to see things differently, just like it's okay to see 1+1=3. You're allowed to be wrong.

Normals for the majority are for fun, and what you consider 'stupid' means little. Surrender is an option, hence the reason it's there for choosing.
The mode for people like you who want to never quit games while losing 2-45 and get pissed off at an off meta picks is ranked. Go be pissy in there.

Playing a team game for yourself more than for the rest of the team is what little children do. They are selfish, and you expect it. I don't expect a 13-year-old to be selfish (though many are). It is a matter of being civilized ... no matter where you are, and what you do, if it is in a public place you need to consider others at least as much as you consider yourself. That is being an adult (which some people never learn no matter how old they get.)
