Is this a toxic ban or no?

Okay, so this has happened more than a few times to me and it has had me thinking for a while. I'm a yasuo main pause for boos.... and this situation has happened to me quite a few times. While it does piss me off quite a bit when my teammates ban yasuo when I've had him hovered the ENTIRE champ select draft and then they fall back on the "Oh sorry man, wasn't paying attention bs," I realize that I just need to get over it and play another champ. But it has happened to me multiple times where people have told me "Play something else in midlane, I don't want you on yasuo." I assure them that I am good with him, and would feel more comfortable guaranteeing a win with him vs another one of my champs. Not by a landslide, but my chances of winning do go slightly up on him. Is it not toxic to ban someone's champ regardless of their request to play them in ranked? Also, another situation I was in was where I had yasuo hovered mid and was praying I'd get to play him, then out of the blue the top laner who was below me in draft hovered yasuo and said "I'm a yasuo one trick, give me yasuo or I'll ban him and feed." I politely told him that I had him hovered for a bit before him and was ahead in draft, but he flamed and banned yasuo and said "well you won't get him." How is this not toxic? Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I mean I'm not a one trick Yasuo main by any means, but how am I ever supposed to play him when he's got a very high ban rate in my elo and half the time when he gets through bans my team won't let me play him?

Don't hover him. That's my best solution for ya.

After a game when they ban your champion use the time to quickly send a report to riot under the negative attitude/griefing. It is becoming clearer that people want a punishment for this behaviour but riot need the feedback from the game itself. Just a quick paragraph saying something like x player banned my champion when I had him selected. They can then use the information to better the system.

They shouldnt ban your champ in champ select if you had him selected. I think they are the ones unpleasant

Well the "I didn't see it sorry dude" excuse usually is not BS. I've accidentally done that and felt genuinely sorry and a little dumb for not seeing it. But yes I would say the scenarios you describe are toxic. There's not much you can so about it other than playing through the match and reporting them afterwards. Riot's punishments are all based on players' feedback. When a lot of people report something, thinking it's wrong and punishable, Riot eventually makes it a punishable thing, because obviously the community does not approve of said behavior. So you just have to report it and hope things change.

It's unfortunate that you main, or at least like to play often, a champ that right now gets banned a lot. I used to always ban yasuo when I played mid. Now I've learned how to lane against him a little better so I ban zed or Kat instead. So it's just an unfortunate side effect of playing a champ that no one wants to lane against.
