Did Riot Make A Mistake (Again)?

I think we've all noticed the increasing number of "I got banned for hacking but I didn't hack" threads. Normally, I wouldn't pay attention but some time last year, Riot banned a couple of people unjustly which let to the unbanning at the time. Now I'm guessing Riot is making another error and are banning people unjustly but first of all, the player support should be on alert to bans caused by hacks because most people don't even know what a hack is. The only time I ever saw a hack was that unlimited Azir turrets in Plat 2 but other than that, nothing. So a Rioter should come online and give this people some peace of mind because if my account got permabanned, I'll just flip my shit.

Riot bans 3rd party program users in waves. Thats why you see a outbreak of people complaining about it, they just did a ban wave.

There's definitely something up, but it's hard to say what without more info, either from Riot (which isn't going to happen) or from the players who got banned (which likely also won't happen).

I saw someone theorize that it might be some sort of virus (likely from some "free RP" site) that's causing issues. Then again, maybe not. We're really just taking the word of random players on the internet that they weren't hacking. They could be lying, trying to get a Riot response to know how to avoid being detected in the future.

All we can safely assume is that there was indeed a ban wave. Everything beyond that is speculation.

All of this runs smack in to the privacy concerns.

In two of the high profile cases here, Riot has responded and said that while the account owner may not have been the one to "commit the deed," so to speak, someone else who had access to the account DID. The account owner is required to maintain the security of their account.

Both times Riot pointed this out. Now, I'm very skeptical of people who say they don't hack and don't know how. They may not. But someone who used their account did.

I've noticed an influx too, but the funniest thing is that in like 3 threads, a Rioter came in and was like "you let someone else use your account and they used scripts." Like summoner 11 .

I agree man. I'd like to hear from someone on this. It's rather poor taste to leave us all hanging. My best guess is they may be working on finding out the problem then they will say something. Let's just hope it's sooner than later because I'm feeling betrayed by Riot at the moment.

Hm...What programs did you have running when playing league? There might be some connection in all the bans. Curse?

Could be a mistake, could be they are lying, who knows.

The perma bans have gone crazy during this week and not only the script ones
