An Odd Pattern I've Noticed Concerning All My Ranked Losses

To start things off, I'm going to get it outta the way that I am Silver V. Also, this post is not about "Elo Hell", nor will it be about "False Claims of where I feel I should be rank-wise". This is solely to describe a sort of pattern I've noticed concerning most (I'd say about 82%) of my losses in Ranked. That being said, I fully accept that the other 18% was due to my own performance. Either being caught out, blah blah blah.

Moving on, the pattern I've seem to come across in my Ranked games (the ones I lose, that is) is that I've lost almost all of them because of a single toxic player on my team. Like, not the simple "such noob, much wow" toxic player or the simple "oh my god, so bad" toxic player. No. I'm talking about the "I'm going to write an essay describing what you did wrong with as much detail as possible without giving you any creative advice on how to not make that same mistake again" toxic player.

I can no longer count the number of times I've pressed the report button against some toxic player, within the past month and a half. (And, yes, each report was a legit report with "In-Game Chat" evidence). I've had that "Riot Tribunal Message" pop up on my screen to thank me so many times, that I legit feel I am the Tribunal's "Undercover Agent" now.

So, given this pattern, I would like to ask a simple question: Why does it seem like the Toxicity level rose to the highest levels this season as compared to previous seasons? Why are people so negative? Am I running into "Previously Golds/Plats/Diamonds" whom are trying to climb again, but cant and blame their Silver teammates? Or are people just naturally negative about all of their games?

Like, I can't say I've never been toxic, and I can admit that I've had my fair share of toxic moments, myself. However, this season, I've practically been "dead" to the chat system, using it only for "mia calling" and "praise" (or, as Sky Williams calls it, "Sucking some D***").

I just really wonder why so many people are so darn toxic 99.9% of the time?

I thought i could never rage at anyone but going into a game as sup and having an adc go 0/13/0 legitly trying made me absolutly rage beacuse having to support that is not fun, especially since it was a premade 4 that refused to surrender. Not fun!

So your the one giving out reports for basically no reason.... and dictating what is toxic for everyone.... i see now.... because things like this didnt used to be toxic.... our society has become so lost from reality of this world.... all the things going on in the world and your worrying about this?

the problem is that you need to realize these are other people you are playing with, instead of condeming them for bad behavior, try to cheer them up. Most people do not go into the game saying to them selfs that they want to rage. The game is hard and sometimes that can be frustrating. Do something that reminds them we are all human and in my experience this helps more then just hitting the report button.

I wouldn't hit the report button for something as simple as a player calling me a noob or such, because imo, that isn't a truly reportable offense. However, I will hit the report button for players who flame in chat (and /all chat) and then proceed to feed intentionally. [It's easy to tell it's intentional when the player literally walks to the enemy team, stops there within their vision and then dances]

I honestly try that everytime. Some games, I'll manage to make it work and the player will either calm down entirely or will calm down just enough to finish the game out (which, I am fine with as long as they continue to try their best). However, there are times where this doesn't work and seems to only make the situation worse.

That is good, after you try that there is not much else to do, if they continue to rage/throw then that seems reportable to me. Oh and the first comment was supposed to be satire lol.

Just one eh? Most of my games that I lose is because bot lane feeds like crazy... Im not kidding. If you are a halfway decent adc at this elo (bronze - Silver 3) you will climb, because the majority of your lane opponents are feeders...

I am (unfortunately) not a very good adc, Im a top lane main. :/
