A friend made a ticket about a person that we reported but that person is still playing

Had to re-write the thread since the first was deleted by an automatic bot it seems...

To people downvoting know that your are disgusting for agreeing with such behavior that is over racism and hate speech. I guess once it doesn't concern YOUR people or country, you wouldn't care, but thanks for showing how the league community supports his kind. The guy is still playing freely and probably keeping his state of mind since he now knows that he won't get punished for beeing like that, good job :/

Hi! A friend of mine made a request the 29th november on Riot support to ask for a player to be punished after he made hate speech in chat and also wishing for terrorists to attack their country.

Here is the endgame chat log :

The player however, is still good and playing in LoL to this day (checked his op.gg, seems i can't link it because it would be "shaming" but him doing hate speech is ok).

Considering his talking and words, i'm 100% sure he is toxic and highly flaming most of his games. Regardless, a lot of us lost dear friends and families to those attacks and his talk should be punished by a definitive ban. I would also want to seriously reconsider Riot's awarness and report system if such behavior was not punished earlier by the simple reports AND support ticket.

Its not Riots job to inform you on what kind of punishment another player got. You and your friend have already done everything you need to do.

This is not the problem, the player has NOT been punished (and it's been over two weeks). Considering his talk and the subject, it deserves more than a def ban. Please do read the whole thread before replying...thank you.

The player however, is still good and playing in LoL to this day (checked his op.gg)

Did you talk to the player? It doesnt have to be a ban, it can be a chat restriction. They might not even be punished yet, it could be used as a strike against them in a series of other chat logs.

Previous cases of racism or hate speech has been mostly severly punished by Riot. This is why such behavior should not go unnoticed and also speaks for the person's global behavior in the game. I do not intend to contact that player, my simple role is to report these players. However, seeing that he is still able to play and probably flame more french people the same way after 2 weeks, this is seriously questionning how the report system works and why hasn't Riot done anything after the ticket we sent.

Okay you havent talked to him. I'm not saying you need to. I'm just saying you don't know if he has or hasn't been punished with a chat restriction.

Yes, Riot will ban people for racism but usually only in cases where they have done it more than once or excessively in one match. However if its a situation where Riot sees a player can reform, they will give them a lesser form of punishment.

We responded by simply reporting the person's behavior but seeing that such behavior is not punished cannot be left as it is. I will NOT tolerate such talks to be permited in LoL and the person walk away freely from the game's rules.

This is absolutely not the issue here. If everyone was just working that way, there would be no rule or report system at all since anyway we won't probably ever encounter the players.

Words are not just words, in this case they're not. Hate speech is a bannable offense and this is a great exemple of it. If you think that he was just talking wind by wishing terrorism to attack the french country after all the attacks and loss we had, then you clearly misunderstand the whole situation and state of those who read his words. It's racism, hate speech, it strikes people and it has to be punished as it is everywhere.

Those are horrible things to say. When you submitted the ticket to player support, what response did they give you? Usually, they do not handle matters that are dealt with via the end-game reporting system, so if they referred you back to that, it wasn't that they didn't want to help, but that it's their policy that they cannot.

There are quite a few different things that could be happening that we can't possibly know, however, even if it appears like nothing is happening.

  • The player might have had a completely clean record, and this as being only one reporting incident wasnt enough to trigger their account for punishment review. Given that it deals with hate-speech, I would say this one is perhaps unlikely, since we see people all the time who come here and say they were immediately permabanned for an instance of it.
  • If he had a decent record, the player might have been issued a chat restriction. As mentioned by some of the others, this is something that no one would be able to know without playing another game with that person, or talking to them. I think someone mentioned that a insta-perma has to be reviewed once, but I'm not 100% sure of that one. If anyone knows for sure, please let us know!
  • The punishment might not have been issued yet. I recently received my first pop-up notice that someone I reported was punished for their behavior. I couldn't even tell you when the last time I had reported someone was, but it was a while. Excluding holidays, I play at most 1-2 times a week, so it had been at least a few weeks since I had reported anyone, but whoever it was, they got punished. So it's entirely possible that the guy will end up on here in a month writing a post about how he got banned but didn't deserve it, etc.

Regardless of what is happening behind the scenes, what he/she said was wrong. It was horribly insensitive, and is just not appropriate.

Hi, i got what i think is an automated response that says "we will deal with it probably thanks" but nothing afterwards :|

It saddens me so much to see the reaction of people here and how they don't give a damn and would let it go, they just don't know how hard this stuff strikes, only when it matters for them :/

But i won't let this go, nor my friends that were there. I don't want Riot to make statements and rules on reddit or boards everytime and avoid issues like that whenever they feel like to. Justice on fields? Clearing toxicity? Yea well, i need proof of that. Didn't get any message ingame saying "summoner has been judged thanks for your feedback" or anything...

In the relatively short time that I have been active on the forums, I've noticed a couple different groups of people that post here. One group happens to be a type of person that is rather thick skinned, and because they are not bothered by much, they think that most other people shouldn't be either. For many of them, their standard advice is mute, report, move on. Which, for many situations, is actually very good advice. Unfortunately, while they do mean well, I don't think those people realize that sometimes it can come across as a bit callous. Not everyone is as resistant to insults, racism and other forms of hate-speech. And it can be harder for some people to simply report it and walk away from the situation.

If support sent you a message that said they will deal with it, instead of the generic one pointing you back to the in-game system, then they very well might look into it, given the severity of the hate speech used. And if they do look into it, it does take them a few days. As far as getting the message, you will only get that if your report is the one that triggered the review. They don't send those out to every person who issues a report.

I'm sure it's very frustrating waiting, and that it must seem as though justice is not being served, but try to be patient. If the ticket with support is still open, then you will hear back from them with what they are able to disclose.

There's no automatic bot, those of us on the Moderation team simply remove things that break the rules. In this case, Naming & Shaming.

Don't post names, screenshots showing names, videos showing names, or links that give names when talking about players in negative ways and your posts won't get removed.

Excuse me? The guy makes huge racist statements about French people and doesn't get punished but i suffer punishement on boards for denouncing it? I'm sorry but, i will not let this go...his talk is extremely innapropriate and i just can't believe people are actually downvoting or supporting those facts, it's just horrible and without words.

Also, note that i changed my thread to hide names that are not concerned, but the way you're puting it is just plain horrible considering the person to shame here has reasons to be. I can understand the rule about shaming and naming, but if you take each threads as the same don't be surprised to have feedback. People that are not concerned have nothing to do on the thread, but the guy that actually made those statements has NO RIGHT to be protected by ANY rule or anything, he prooved himself extremely toxic and deserves punishment and to be known by the community for his behavior (that again, is proved by chat logs ingame).
