I find it weird that end season punishments are more severe because of the loot given out

Example:

##player 1:

> plays games at the start of the season > gets 2 chat restricts and a 14-day ban > is nice for the whole rest of the season. > gets honor level 2 > gets rewards

##player 2:

> plays the game through the entire season and is nice > gets a chat restrict in the last part of the season. > gets no rewards.

I am not saying that people do or don't deserve the rewards, I am saying that getting punished later in the season shouldn't be a bigger punishment because they broke the rules later.

They both broke the rules, yet one gets to be punished for it.

if two thieves get caught stealing and are sentenced for 6 months in jail, whose fault is it that the one who got caught in October doesn't get to be out on Christmas, as opposed to the one who got caught in March?

is it the system's fault or his?

I agree. If you are punished 3 times during the season or you receive a 14-day ban you should lose rewards, where the time you are punished does not matter.

BOTH get punished for it. It feels more severe but it's the same punishment across the season.

it is not more severe, it's just time due for some players.

At the end of the season things can get heated in ranked when people try to reach gold while being under constant time pressure. I'd imagine, risking the very same rewards you're trying to get, every time you flame helps to keep toxicity down.

This is like children and Santa Claus though. Kids know that they can fuck off and do whatever up until like October. Once October kicks in, parents start the mantra of "Santa knows if you're good or bad, and if you're bad, you get coal," so it stands to reason that kids' behavior improves or stays clean around the holiday season, because they fear not getting presents from Santa. So you understand that there are punishments for toxicity and bad behavior. It stands to reason that you should have enough common sense not to fuck it up so close to the end of the season, where your rewards are on the line if you do fuck up.

The punishments are the same regardless of when they occur. It's just that during the latter half of the season, the consequences of those punishments begin looming and becoming very real. It's simple, really - if you want end season rewards, don't get punished. Actions have consequences, and if you do things that jeopardize your rewards, that's on you, it's not a fault of the system, and the system shouldn't be changed to forgive you for your bad actions just because you lack the capability to control your behavior.

Honor system is piggy backing on Ranked systems. I hope it changes next year.
