Just had the most scary experience of my League life. (WALL OF TEXT, BUT WORTH THE READ)

Someone had sent me free links to get "free rp" and like an idiot, I believed it, and clicked on it and entered my info.

10 minutes later I was kicked from the client, with a message saying my account had been logged in elsewhere. Somewhere in Jordan. I immediately reset my password and thought everything would be okay.

Then, I get an email saying google had stopped a login to my email, from Jordan. I reset it as well. (like an idiot I had the two passwords the same)

Turns out in the 3 minutes it took me to reset my email, the guy had sent one of my friends a mystery gift. And spammed my friends with the same link I clicked on. I told everything that I had been hacked, and to not click on that; If they had, I told them to reset their passwords ASAP.

Then finally the guy he gifted came along. I explained what happened, and he apologized. He asked how much RP had I lost, I replied with "just a mystery gift". He said he would gift me back, but I declined saying I was saving that for when Voli went on sale later this month, and i'll just hopefully get a refund from riot. 30 seconds later I received Voli as a gift from him, 4ChinTeller. Even after telling him no, and that it was okay. He still did it.

It just goes to show that not everyone on this game is as toxic as a Teemo shroom. There's some genuinely nice people out there. Restored my faith in this game's community.

Although, my support ticket that I sent about the refund is still open. I'm satisfied with what happened.

Thanks 4ChinTeller

You're lucky you didn't get a rat virus. I got one after joining a scamming teamspeak server where it gives you a link saying you need plugins for this server which just led to a website that gave me a download and automatically ran the file it downloaded resulting everything that had any sort of account or password on my entire system to be changed. Eventually got everything back except my email, but that shit is pretty scary.

While your at it turn off all your plugins like flash/java and put option "ASK TO ACTIVATE"

Enable javascript only on webpages you trust. AND only on things you need for webpage to function.

You just stopped 99.9% of all web based attacks.

The last 1% (Image buffer exploits) are more rare than league of legend player that could find their marbles in empty box.

Take your opera, IE , chrome or what ever garbage your using and just toss it in the garbage.
