How can you avoid being toxic?

Seriously this is probably what makes to game hard, is that it just forces you to be toxic. You just want to play the game but players will literally force you to just be toxic. You don't say anything all game and just play win your lane help your team and there's always this 1 or more players that just doesn't give a shit and do whatever it takes to make someone tilt and become toxic. There's no way of avoiding it even if you try your best and be all friendly with everyone one shit you do can literally trigger this certain player to fuck up your game, be it anything inting, trolling, flaming, whatever. Even if it's you who is trying to win you will still be reported and get punished for someone who trolled you and you're team all game, all the while this guy goes on every match doing the same shit to different players.

Why is this? Why is the one who is trying their best to win always the victim of the ones who just don't give a fuck and troll or throw a game of potentially getting punished or banned... Instead this troll could do multiple ways of ruining someones game, like say nothing all game but is actually trying to shit on their own team by doing whatever bullcrap they can pull just to get whatever they want and report the victims who just wanted to PLAY and WIN the game, but no this troll will always get away with whatever he does cuz you know, oooh nooo thats not trolling or ooooh nooo he never said anything thats not toxic meanwhile intentionally trying to lose the game.

I just don't get this... How can you avoid being toxic when you have players like this who don't care if they lose because they're triggered by something or don't like their teammates?

Seriously someone trolling people on their promos should just get permabanned tbh, that is the most fkd up thing you can do in this game. While you're supposed to try and win but instead you want to ruin this persons promos just cuz you want to, seriously this kind of player needs to get banned.

Idk to be completely honest with you I just act mature and like the bigger person, realize that the game is just pixels on a screen and it means absolutely jack shit for my real life and my career/friends/family, then sit back and remember that I honestly won't feel any better just by flaming someone else.

But that requires maturity, something a lot of people here don't have (not you necessarily OP, just a general observation).

"/mute all"

"I need to talk though" .. no you don't. You can communicate all important info with pings.

It's impossible the worst part is that you get banned and punished for falling victim to these trolls...

I always mute enemies. they seldom/never have anything useful to say. As for communication, I have had games where I did not say a word, but teammates still get the idea of what I'm trying to do when I ping. "Targetted Darius" - ganking the Darius at top. "Retreat" - I'm near your lane but I'm not actually ganking. "Mana 2%" - I'm useless, don't gank/engage now. "Assist me" - Obviously, I need help. It usually works. "

Play in short bursts, listen to some music while you play, have a stress ball near you.

Best thing you can do is to just look at everything you own on this account and think "Is it worth losing all this stuff over some random people on the internet?"

Intentionally trying to lose the game is a reportable offense. Report them.

Just remember it's just a game. If people troll in your promo's that's really annoying, but you'll live. (: And how to avoid being toxic?

  1. Be there person you would want somebody else to be in chat
  2. Just start with 'good luck have fun', mute everybody and just play.
  3. Don't play
  4. Play in a premade team, no need to flame random players then

It's totally possible not to be toxic. I used to have a Green ribbon, for being positive, all though I met a lot of trollers. It doesn't help to rage at your team when one player is messing up. Not only will the troller affect your game, but you will as well, in a negative way. Take it easy, it's just a free game which isn't the most important thing in life, so it's not worth being toxic for ;)

i just force myself to be completely emotionless and do what i can with the reasonable teammates but some games are just unwinnable

Let me use an example. Trinimmortal, a relatively known League Youtuber. He has openly admitted to being easily tilted, and he often makes comments on how stupid (to put it lightly) his team can be in both his videos and on Twitter. How is he still playing?

He doesn't say anything of a ban-level caliber in the actual game.

Yes, he can get passive aggressive on chat as seen in a few examples, but he has relatively avoided being toxic and has definitely avoided trolling in games. You can say all the stuff you want to about a game IRL, with a friend, or on social media (...with reason, don't go saying you want to kill them or something). Just fucking avoid typing any of that shit in the game chat. /muteall if you have to and pay attention to the game. Yell at the top of your lungs all the profanity you want at the people trolling in your games if it makes you feel better, but fighting fire with fire does not work in this case.
