There has been no news, and we have been told not to expect news. If and when Riot makes any further statements on the matter, it will be a pleasant surprise. Until then, there is no reason to assume that any of their policies will be changing.

We've seen posts on the forums on that issue, but only from a very small portion of the people who were in the experiment. Nothing official has come from Riot.

Some happily regained their accounts and are steadily gaining honor, and having more fun playing in the process.

Some have been rebanned for repeating the behavior that got them punished in the first place.

I did not keep a tally of reported outcomes.

Nothing directly from Riot but, I've been unbanned. I don't play on that account because it takes a long time to get honor and I'd rather spend the time on my smurf but, here is what I can tell you from my experience talking with Riot Support members. I recommend making a smurf account and playing on it for 3 months (at least) with 0 toxic behavior (0 punishments). Then, you should submit a Riot Support ticket and see where it goes.

The questions they ask will probably differ but here are the questions they asked: Why should we consider lifting your permanent ban? Do you have any smurf accounts that we can look into?

Then they basically asked me questions on my account and then asked a bunch of scenarios of what I would do in it. For e.g. If a teammate is flaming you, what should you do in that situation? Hope this gives you a little bit of what goes on.

Ooooh, how interesting!

Allowing permabanned players to return to the game is NOT something we're committed to as a company at this time.

Though i'm confused, are they talking about permabanned accounts or permabanned players? We know they know that players of banned accounts just make a new account and play more, so the wording here is kind of like a red flag and a sly wink to me. I don't know of any permabanned players, except Tyler1 when he was.
