does anyone play worse when they are with higher ranked friends?

I seem to loose my confidence completely, i may get them low but in a custom 1v1, its as if I'm a total noob who didn't play the champ before. Has anyone experience this at all?

Ive' been thru some shit but I really am concerned about this because I am pretty sure confidence is why i am still BV, even if i beat a gold or silver player in a norm game. Please let me know :)

If you are talking about playing normals with them then you play worse because you are going vs higher ranked players. If you are B5 then chances are you are normally matched with other bronze 5ss and unranked players even in normals. If you play with a Gold 5 player then you will go vs high bronze - low silver, and even the skill difference between B5 and B2 is enough to turn a lane into a stomp.

Idk it's pretty easy to make someone look really bad if you're only a little more skilled than them. And then once you fall behind you just look like a complete newb because you can't really do anything other than try to get CS and catch up. You know they will outplay you under even fair circumstances, so when you're slightly behind there's just no chance.

Mentally I've felt this before. I have a friend who finished plat last season and I played a ranked with him this season and just absolutely fed and played like trash. It was like the other team knew I was the weak link and constantly roamed and ganked me.

I find one can be mentally psyched out if they know the person is in a fairly higher ranked division then themselves.. i know i do... i play with gold and plats all the time in normals.. but when i do a lolskill.net search and see that im against a diamond 3 player i tend to play alot tighter then im used to and that in itself cause me to miss mistake the diamond player might have made cause they are pressing me cause they may assume or know what my basic MMR is..

My only advice would be to play the game out, listen to what teammates may have to say in regards to how play, build, etc (as long as its constructive). Dont lose your head if the guy is face stomping u.. Every loss is an opportunity to learn... after a while u will be surprised how much the gap will get smaller.. not saying you will be going from Bronze 5 - gold 5 over night.. we all know elo hell is a thing.. but if you buckle down and push thru you will see how much better playing with and against better players will do for your game..
