I Improved a lot after doing ranked within just 2 months of playing. Now I've been at this for about 6 months. I don't know if its possible to get to at least silver.

Solo Queue is pretty much a dice roll if you're lower elo. I have a Platinum player coaching me, so I definitely got better, but I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen and still got to silver before season reset?

Yeah, the low ranks are where the trash gets trapped so you need to be strategic. I only play Ranked Tuesday - Thursday because the other day's people are playing NON-STOP and it not only burns them out, but you can tell they have a "who cares" mentality as if to say "We've got 4 more games tonight, big deal"

Play the same role all the time, and stick with one champ for all three roles (the two you pick and support when you get filled) if you can help it.

I started in early season 2015 (season 5). I did hit level thirty about halfway through the season and waited a long time to do my provisionals. I did them at the very end of the season and placed Silver II, then played a few more games, but not enough to get anywhere. In season 2016 I played a bit early on then I waited awhile to finish my placements. I placed Silver III, climbed to Silver II, then gave up doing ranked. Normal games were more fun. This season, I finished my placements a bit more than a month ago and I placed into Silver I in Flex 5v5 Queue, Silver III in Flex 3v3 Queue, and Silver II in Solo/Duo. I have done a lot more ranked games than previous seasons, and I've climbed to Gold V in Flex and Silver I in Solo/Duo.

I don't think there's a right time to do ranked. I think you should do it whenever you feel like it.

Just focus on improving.

I'd honestly suggest to stop playing ADC and just play mid/top. This lets you learn fundamentals quicker than other roles. A master korean coach just suggests newer players to do this and play annie. I agree with him because it allows you to focus more on whats happening in the game and less on your champ. Deaths are usually mistakes, learn why they happened. Players make alot of mistakes in low elo, you need to be able to see the mistakes and punish them for it.

Watch some coaching sessions on other players. They're pretty informative and entertaining to watch in my opinion. Here are some channels.

I ended silver in my first season playing ranked, after flopping around in bronze for a bit at first until the whole 'don't die' thing clicked.

People tend to say avoid ranked at first, but I don't think that's necessarily good advice. Ranked is the best place to learn and get better, and while realistically most people diving into ranked at level 30 are going to be bronze level, if they focus on improving and climbing out of bronze (instead of raging at their bronze teammates), they'll be silver material long before someone who didn't rank and just spammed normals to try to get better.
