Why have a profanity filter, if an account can get suspended for chat based offenses? I'm not talking about trash talk, I'm talking about profanity. Take away the profanity filter if its as meaningless as this. If people choose to turn it off then they have no right to report someone for the language used. Change my mind.
You don’t get banned for profanity. You get banned for toxicity.
If Riot could implement a filter that would eliminate any and all toxic messages from being sent, I’m sure they’d do that. Unfortunately, this is impossible.
It’s you responsibility to follow the rules, not Riot’s responsibility to give you a “safe space” to break the rules in.
You know you can insult and harass others without using any profanities right?
"Fuck you" is insulting. Even if the letters are bleeped out like so,
"#### you"
I still know that it was being insulting without knowing what specifically it was bleeping out. And this isn't even going into all of the different ways that people intentionally avoid the filter.
Profanity isnt really punished in my experience. i say fuck, shit, etc... all the time in game and I've never been punished before.
