I'm kinda confused, I wasn't really flaming or toxic this game, just kinda annoyed and depressed...it happens when you have 2 losing lanes and an AFK mid lane...

I get that pointing out their kda and asking for reports and whatnot is not exactly sportsmanlike, but I never even flamed them? I'm not understanding very well that I can be punished for a single game with such tame chat logs, and the people who tell your mother to get cancer and die don't receive any punishment whatsoever...

PS. I wish there were timestamps on these logs.... the "WTF" and "Report this inter" comments were made about 10 minutes apart from eachother. I was exclaiming "wtf" because Leblanc got stuck inside of Anivia's wall...xD)

Aggravating other players and constantly attacking and blaming them is something that can warrant a strike, yes. It classifies as toxic behaviour.

Usually, a chat log like this wouldn't necessarily net a chat restriction on its own (especially if we're talking about a clean account), so I'm assuming this is the kind of behaviour you've been exhibiting throughout an extended period of time.

My last punishment was a 25 game chat restriction from last year. I was very close to getting my honor back so this is quite upsetting for me.

After sitting on it for a little while i can tell that i talk way too much. I watched the replay of my game and often i would stand still randomly, talking to my team. I am going to try turning off my enter key from now on.

Bullshit, none of that is actually toxic. He is telling them that they should practice champions before they start to inting in competitive games. Anyone can get aggravated about anything that doesn't mean that he is toxic. Riots r%%%%%ed system doesn't work and punishes people that don't deserve these punishments. I have an account that got perma banned because of logs like this with proof. The people in the game that I got banned in said "I will go to your house and slaughter your entire family", constantly flame me and kys. I reported him hoping that this would get punished but No apparently slaughter your entire family isn't in the ban list of words.

I agree, the system is terrible for a competitive game. I have been told to get cancer and die and that they hope my house burns and my whole family dies, and yet I am punished for this. There needs to be more leniency. The less that people can say to each other, the more people will troll and int. Because trollers and inters rarely get punished. But if you say the first thing to them, then you'll be punished. Something needs to change about the entire honor system. Chat restrictions are supposed to be a warning; then why does a mere warning strip you of all end of season rewards, and takes you months to restore what you once had? Even better, bring back the warning from the old client that you had been recently reported for verbal abuse. That may get people to step back on what they say. I know that if you've recently been toxic (but not enough to warrant a punishment) then your honor progress will be slowed. Why cant we get a warning in the client that we have recently been unsportsmanlike and that honor progress has been slowed?

I can certainly see where it's coming from, but nope not a deserved chat ban at all. Especially when you were the one getting flamed first. Gotta agree riot's system is trash

Not the worst I've seen but I can definitely see why it would receive a punishment, especially if this is a trend of yours*. I get that you were frustrated (happens to all of us from time to time) but taking it out on your teammates (especially all game long) is still poor behavior. In the future I would suggest venting your frustrations at the screen and not in chat, as doing so will let you get it out of your system without compromising your teams chances of success.

*I say trend because the IFS judges based on consistency X severity, meaning that even low-key toxicity can result in a punishment if it's consistently displayed over multiple games.

P.S. Other peoples poor behavior does not excuse your own, and you have no way of knowing if the people you report did receive a punishment or not (no the pop-up message is not proof as it's notoriously unreliable).

P.S.S. Reform cards only show 1-3 recent games as examples of the kind of behavior that led to a punishment in the first place. It does not necessarily mean that they were the only games you were validly reported in.

I'm quite confused as to why you post this? I said nothing along the lines of "fuck you fucking dumbass stop fucking feeding". I was just very upset and frustrated, as I have the full rights to be. My team was dying and dying, and clearly they were not trying to win. Top also trollpicked and then said she didn't know how to play against Teemo, to which I replied she should not be playing ranked. Nothing toxic there. Perhaps calling for reports and calling out my team's kda was not so sportsmanlike of me, but they were genuinely not trying to win, except for perhaps the MF. They weren't trolling, but they were clearly not trying and didn't care about the outcome of the game. And I have the full rights to be upset about that.

But I guess riot games doesn't like players having emotions. I suppose I should just not talk in games, because I have been punished for banter before. The system is a joke.

You repeatedly called for reports for teammates you repeatedly labeled inters, called for reports for teammates you labeled AFK, called someone a noob, claimed you were "the only one playing the game" and throwing your teammates' scores in their faces, and asked the enemy team to report your team. All of this is harassment, none of it helps you win the game, and none of it makes a difference in whether your teammates get punished or not.

Scores like 0/6 don't necessarily indicate intentional feeding. When you harass people for it, they generally do worse, not better, and they're more likely to stop trying at all. This punishment was definitely warranted and you would do well to understand which of the things you said were unacceptable (most of your chat, honestly) if you want that account to remain accessible.

So, you're not even sure they were inting, and yet you repeatedly called them inters and announced you were going to report them and asked other players to do the same? Even if you were sure, that still wouldn't be any excuse to harass people in chat.

You don't see how spending the entire game complaining about your teammates, insisting that they're losing on purpose, and telling everyone to report them could possibly be negative in some way? You don't think that bothers people? You don't think that's targeting them for scorn?

There's room for more than one "bad guy" in a match; it's not a contest. Other people's behavior has no bearing on whether you're punished for your behavior. If you think someone broke the rules, report them for it. If Riot's IFS determines that they did break the rules, they'll be punished - totally independently of your punishment.

You made this thread because you were "confused" and "don't understand" what you did wrong. I am telling you that the specific behaviors you engaged in are forms of harassment, which gets punished. Now you are informed and aware. Responding with "nuh-uh!" serves no purpose. I don't make the rules and neither do you. You now know what they are, and can either follow them or get additional punishments up to and including a permaban. What happens next is up to you.

You spent your entire chat session raging and harassing your team, including post-game. I'm glad you understand that your behavior was toxic. This means that you also understand the punishment was justified, right? Other players' behavior is totally and wholly irrelevant to your punishment. You are punished for what you say and do, not for what anyone else says or does. If you think another player's behavior was inappropriate, report them.

Do you work for Riot? You sure sound like you do, what with you defending their extremely faulty punishment system. What's the point in punishing people for saying words, exactly? Especially when I didn'tfflame. I pinged my team appropriately where the enemy jungler and mid laner were, made a huge impact on the map, scoring a lot of objectives for my team, and yet they ignore all of this and feed. It can be quite demoralizing to make that effort just for one teammate to go afk, and for the other to quite literally say in chat "i dont want win".

I don't work for Riot. I'm giving you strategies to help keep your account out of the goodness of my heart.

Pinging MIAs, making an impact on the map, scoring objectives, CS, kills, skillshots landed, and other gameplay factors have no impact on your chat-related punishment. Your teammates' behavior has no impact on your chat-related punishment.

After a mere five neutral/helpful messages, you used chat to call your teammates noobs, tell others to report them, and bully them about their scores. Riot considers this inappropriate behavior, so they punished you for it, the point of which is to convince you not to do it again. If that proves ineffective, they will permanently revoke your access to that account, which guarantees that you won't be able to use it as an avenue for more inappropriate behavior.

It doesn't matter if you agree with your punishment. What matters to your account's status is that you understand the behavior you engaged in that led to this punishment and modify that behavior accordingly. In the end, it's up to you.

Agreed. IMHO they should bring the tribunal back.

The Tribunal while helpful had a number of problems, and I say this as someone who participated in it back when it was still active. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Cases being slow to process, so even getting cases was tough.
  • Cases being from months in the past, resulting in player being punished for long forgotten behavior.
  • People spam voting punish and/or pardon, which given that cases required a majority vote to get a verdict caused some problems.

While the IFS is far from perfect (though it never will be, nor will any system for that matter) and should do a better job at catching gameplay related offenses, it's faster and arguably more effective than the Tribunal ever was, which is thanks in part due to data from The Tribunal being used to build the IFS.
