I don't understand people that wonder why trolls exist in this game

When said people, being your own teammates, deliberately challenge you to behave like a toxic person by banning your own pick intent. There are other instances as well, such as going afk while wandering around or farming in the jungle to avoid leaverbuster, inting, spamming pings etc. In those scenarios, you are helpless, there's nothing you can do to stop this. You can't say "Fuck it, this guy is an asshole. I don't want to keep playing with him. I'm outta here" and exit the game like you do with fps games for example. And that's what causes toxic behavior. Which, by the way, follows the player through the rest of his games and ruins his day or mood or whatever. Yet Riot only condemns said behavior and labels all the other things I mentioned as "having a bad game", even though they are doing it on purpose. These people are the ones that set the base for what clearly appears to be a toxic community.

Tl;dr: Most of the time Riot only cares about who is being toxic and nothing more and that does not solve anything.

What exactly would you like riot to do? They cannot control player behaviour, only moderate it.

Oh look, examples of people getting punished for trolling and there was a post about a guy complaing about leaver buster. Tantram came on and smited him saying that he was circling around the fountain trying to game the system.

Sadly the owner deleted that message already, so I can't link it anymore.

The system is smarter than what alot of people think and gives it credit for.

In an FPS game you can leave in normal games, but not in ranked games. Trolls exist in every game ever made.

People would just play DOTA 2 if that happened. The game isn't worth a monthly fee.

Trolls make more trolls. That is sad fact. And as there is no real punishment for doing real griefing, there is nothing stopping them. Actually RIot policy said in vulgar form is STFU, and that only benefits the trolling players, and makes people think the punishment system avoidable most of the time. Simple reason for this is the fact not all talk is screened, nor the usual way of checking the chats of reporting players too. I have faced so many people who cannot believe or fear the punishment system.

Too many trolls get without punishment. And no, I am not for harsher punishments, but more effective ones. Tossing people out of ranked for 50 or 100 games would be good idea. Best idea would be forcing people to play support role for 20 or 50 ranked games with limited champion set. "Due your misbehavior, you have to learn to play support for next X games on normal draft before you can come back to ranked".

Even more effective would be public rewarding of victims of punished parties. If Riot would give up their policy "no reimburse", things would change. At the moment griefers know that the victims would only suffer, as RIot has made it clear their part is to take the damage, report, and live with proof Riot system DOES NOT work. It has not made the game less toxic. Even on forums toxicity is so common, people just get the idea Riot does not care.

Personally, I just find the mindset difficult to understand.

If the players care about the game that much, they should be trying to win. Why, then, would they intentionally reduce their chances of victory by trolling or raging at teammates?

If someone bans my pick intent, I will just play another champion. I know how to play multiple champions competently in each role so I have plenty of options available.

If someone is intentionally trying to provoke a reaction, I ignore them and continue playing as normal. They want me to react to their provocation, so I just deny them their enjoyment and hope it will bore them enough that they return to normal play (which has happened many times).

I have trouble understanding why some players are so immature and short-sighted as to sabotage themselves and their team when they obviously care about the game and want to win.

IMO, it is a stupid decision with no benefit.

Trolling is only common in bronze. Strive to improve
