Dodging Queue

Now Dodging Queues is annoying. It really is, and I don't like doing it. However sometimes you get the guy who is all like "I am bored so I am just going to feed" before locking in Thresh mid. No one wants to deal with this so the obvious thing to do is dodge. However just for dodging a game once you get a 6 minute wait timer. So I believe everyone should get one dodge a day, or if that seems like too much, have 3 dodges that refresh once a week. This would give people a chance to leave queues that aren't going well without letting people spam dodge or have people dodge just because they got a role they don't like. It would also help when you get those occasional bugs where champ select is black and you can't do anything except dodge.

I personally welcome the 6 minute break. Like, think about it for a moment; If you dodge a game for a perfectly justified reason, all 10 people are removed from the champ select, and the other 9 are put back in queue. If there was no wait timer, and if you re-joined the queue right away, there's a chance you could be thrown right back in with the same people you just dodged from. Have you ever noticed that when someone else dodges, if you just stay in queue you usually end up with mostly the same team you had before? Whenever there's a dodge, even if I didn't do the dodging, I jump out of queue for at least a couple minutes, just to try and avoid being re-queued with the same person who caused the first dodge (assuming it was a troll or something and not just an afk).

If you dodge and have to wait for 6 minutes, burn a little time with some Youtube videos or maybe grab a quick drink or snack from the kitchen, and hope you get a better team after the queue shuffles itself up a little bit.

...only 6 minute? The leniency is real. Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge those cases where we'd rather not play with ppl who straight out break the rules and make others suffer just because they felt like it. However, omitting dodge penalty brings out too much abuse potential as mentioned before:

  • Non-meta pick (urgot adc gankplank mid)? cya nerds /dodge
  • adc demands alistar support but support doesn't know how to play alistar and picks janna? dodgerino
  • support sees renek top zed mid vi junglar and ad adc? #gudteamcomp alt f4
  • the other team banned my champ? eph this game
  • We're all happy with our team? Guess what, the other side isn't and they're dodging

By then you'd figure out that no one would ever get to play.
