Can you report people for not knowing what role they were assigned to?

In today's edition of The Interesting People on My Team, I had a bot who picked Kassadin because he didn't realize he'd been autofilled. This wasn't an off-meta pick; he admitted as much in the select screen after it happened. I'm not saying that's why we lost that game, but it certainly didn't help.

I think it's punishable to force a role swap but if he picked Kassadin because he didn't pay attention but then actually went bot, he didn't break any rules.

That's very interesting, but it's not what I asked. He did go bot as Kassadin, but he wasn't aware that he was bot until it was too late, and he did about as well as you would expect.

I'd personally be hard-pressed to believe someone didn't realize what lane they had been assigned with all of the visual flairs Riot throws at you basically screaming, "HEY FRIEND YOU'RE PLAYING MID YOU GO TO THIS LANE HERES A PIC OF YOU IN MID!!!!11". I guess if they're just 100% not paying attention to what is going on it's possible...so, you could probably submit a ticket about it. Not sure how far that would go - it's kind of hard to enforce people to completely tuned into champ select, even though they should be.

I don't understand. you say they went bot despite being unaware that they were bot?

What's the problem?

Wait, in a draft game? How.. how do you not know what your role is when the first thing the client shows after accepting the game, is a depiction of the map with large text front and center saying "YOU WERE ASSIGNED (position)"

It is reportable for someone to take a lane that wasn't assigned to them or agreed on to trade in draft pick. Blind pick does not have lane assignments, so even if someone "steals" your lane, there's not really any rule that they are breaking.
