Its honestly terrifying to me..
Just how far some people go with what awful stuff they say.
Toxicity is a normal part of this game, its rough at times, but normally ya just mute report and be done with it.
I'm on my computer while my brother is on a seperate computer playing league, and there are a couple people on his team that are so toxic...it scared me. It is unlike any toxicity I have ever seen. I'm lucky my brother tunnel visioned enough that he didn't even notice the chat at all, as if he did it would have effected his gameplay. But I'm watching him play, I see what their saying..
I ain't gonna name and shame, think of this as me telling a story, and let this be a lesson to us all, that we must be careful with what we say to people.
There is a person on the enemy team who misspelled something at one point, and two people, whom are premade, on my brothers team, start calling out this person in all chat just cause he misspelled something.
It started off not that bad, just telling the person he should play minecraft like other kids. Then, it got bad. They started saying "hey, instead of playing minecraft, why don't you end yourself". People say kys on league all the time, but these people said it SEVERAL times, saying this guy would be "doing the world a favor" if he killed himself. It then spiraled even more, to, oddly enough, an argument on how many continents are in North America. The two toxic people on my brothers team said how there were only 3 countries in North America (which is false) and when the poor soul on the enemy team rebuttled, saying NA has 23 countries (which is true, google it) the two toxic people are still convinced they are right, and they said "lol your a retard too, better reason to kys" So we have calling one retarded, calling one a kid, saying kys several times, and to a way bigger extent then I have ever seen in my 5 years of playing this game.
My brother doesn't condone the behavior of his teammates at all. He just didn't want to get involved, and just tried to focus on the game.
It..terrifies me.
I like to think humanity has some sort of moral ground. But to think there are people, living, human people, who are so hell bent on simply causing pain in others, that they go out of their way to do all they can to convince the opposing side to literally end their life.
This is more than just internet trolling or cyber bullying.
This is danger.
I've been both bullied and cyber bullied growing up, but even those dicks has standards, they wouldn't go as far as to say kys, even agreeing that there is a line they shouldn't cross in that regard. But these people, not only said kys like a typical league player, but they hammered it down this person's throat over and over, almost like a parent screaming at a misbehaving child, just hell bent on doing whatever they can to get them to listen, no matter the method.
Okay, that was kind of a shitty analogy, but I'm kinda nervous rn and I can't think of anything better atm.
I know this isn't my buisness, it wasn't even a game I was involved in, hell my brother isn't even involved much, he is just playing the game while all this happens (he did let the enemy team know he does not condone his team's behavior, so he wasn't just letting it happen like its okay, but he only made like 3 comments and no more)
My brother is still playing the game as I type this, but he has muted them as the amount of typing in chat was so large its tough for him to concentrate.
Idk if its okay to file a support ticket just for toxicity, but I might, as this case is too far.
For those reading this, know that you are special. Whether your toxic at times, whether you suck, whether your good, whether your nice, it doesn't matter. We are all people, and I think we can agree no human should inflict this pain to this extent, not to someone else, not to anyone. It may be tough to remember that the champions you face are actual people, but they are, so even if your toxic, I hope you don't go this far.
I hope you all reading this has an amazing day. Best of luck on the rift, and please, be respectful to one another, even if not by much, just try your best.
