"inting" has become a slang term at this point rather than a definitional word.

Back when I first started playing, around mid season 3, you could report people for unskilled play. Thankfully they removed that, as being told your being reported when your honestly trying your best to play feels awful emotionally.

Around season 5, I had a lot of bad games, and I mean ALOT, I was just learning to jungle at that point. But there were only a select few cases where people claimed I was inting and said to report me for it when I was just having a bad game.

Idk if its because of balance decline, but I sware since season 6, "inting" gets thrown around constantly.

Everybody has bad games. Hell, most of the time when I have AWFUL games its in the middle of a losing streak. But I sware, nowadays when I am having a bad game and am trying my best but for the life of me I fail to be useful, people seem convinced that I am intentionaly feeding, and say to report me in all chat.

Guys, seriously.

Inting means intentionally feeding.

That is a black and white statement, no gray about it.

Even if I end up 0/8/2, which tends to happen when I am on a really bad streak, I am not inting. I am honestly trying my best. That is not reportable. If people could be reported and banned for having bad games, majority of bronze elo would be banned constantly.

Speaking of elo, I never play ranked ever.

I have low self-esteem, so the thought of losing having a cost to it is too much for me. So ever since I started playing, I have only played norms 100% of the time. There is nothing lost when you lose.

In normals, all you are doing is playing a video game. Thats it.

There is no reason to get so pissed off and claim I am "inting" because I didn't end up playing too well. If the thing they are upset about is wasted time, then think of it this way. League is just a game where things can go REALLY well or REALLY badly, and can greatly alter your mood. If you are short on free time, maybe, just maybe, playing league, and risking feeling like you wasted what little time you have, is not a risk worth taking.

When you log on to league, you go into it knowing there is a chance a game can go poorly and your mood will be soured as a result. If you want a more surefire way to make sure your free time is spent being happy

play a different game.

The way I see it, league is best played in long sessions on days with a lot of time, such as a day off. That way if I have a bad game, I can play something else to de-tilt then come back later that day when I have calmed down.

On days where I have homework or work at my job, there just isn't enough time to de tilt and go back to league if a game goes poorly. If I log into league on a day where I am short on time, I am willingly taking a risk for my time and how it is used.

Even if you aren't short on free time, if your playing a normal game, in a video game, which means nothing in life, there really isn't any reason to get angry

When I was little I would cry whenever I lost in a game, and my dad would scream at me saying its just a game so shut the hell up.

Looking back, he had a point.

If you get angry or sad over a video game, talk to somebody about it, because getting angry over a videogame is childish.

Getting frustrated is fine, its only human nature after all.

But getting so angry over a dang videogame that you claim they are intentionally playing badly, when 90% of the time they are legitimatly trying their best, that is just not okay.

"inting" is a phrase thrown out so much nowadays its as if people can't tell the difference anymore.

To give an example, I was playing a game earlier where I was playing MissFortune .

Keep in mind I am not an adc player, I am more used to juggernauts, melee autoattackers, or aoe mages.

I had a really poor early game, like, really bad. By the time they ended at 25 I was 2/10/2 or something like that. As someone inexperienced in adc, I am not fully aware how to play when behind. In this game I was behind as hell, and I was really hesitent to autoattack anybody, as I knew that going into 550 range of them to land autos puts me in danger of death, and they had a Diana on their team, so I could hardly auto at all without getting blown up. As a result, I played super cautiously, trying not to get into range of their abilities, even though that meant I couldnt auto them. To my team, it looks like I am just sitting there watching, but I would rather find a clear moment to act than to risk fighting, dying right away, and accomplishing nothing.

To top if off, I play on locked camera. Yes I'm not joking. Like I said before I only play norms, so expanding to unlocked camera to get better at the game is not as important to me, I just play to enjoy myself.

At one point I was at a certain part of the map where none of the enemies were on my screen fully, just right at the edge of my screen. I know from experience that due to the locked camera sometimes simply walking closer to get them to appear on my screen puts me in danger so by the time they are on my screen I am already dead. As such, since I saw the enemies were at the edge of my screen and nothing more, me, wanting to play cautiously and not die, threw out an ult and left it at that, as I did not think I could contribute much more in that fight without dying, especially since I am so behind my autos do jack shit anyway.

To my team, it looked like I was trolling, standing back ulting and walking away like I did, so, to clear up confusion, I explained I play on locked camera and what I did was the best course of action for me if I did not want to die.

Someone on my team asked if I was kidding, and then said "because you better be", as if implying some sort of threat. I did /mute all right then and there, because it was clear these people were angry at me, and are convinced I was trolling, when in reality I wasn't.

It sucked that none of them wanted to ff for some reason, we were down all 3 inhibs and we have half of their kills and my surrender votes went 1/4, so all of them voted no. A part of me wants to assume it was out of spite, as all 4 of them said no, not just some of them, however like I said I had already done /mute all, so I am not going to fully make such a drastic assumption.

This is just one example, but it happens ALL THE TIME.

I am simply having a bad game, and people throw out terms like "inting" or "trolling" as if its a general term for that kind of situation, completely neglecting what those terms LITERALLY mean.

I never int. Never have never will. But the amount of times I have been accused of inting, or have had my team say to report me in all chat, is such a staggering amount its dissapointing.

Its just a videogame. All these people getting so angry says to me that alot of these league players are manchildren, and refuse to grow up. Why else would they get so angry over something so miniscule in life.

Inting means intentionally feeding.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

People fail to understand this now, and it is dissapointing.

Riot has even said after the smite support nunu fiasco a lil while ago that as long as someone tries to win, they will not see it as trolling or inting. Despite this being public knowhow.

People STILL accuse me of inting when I am having a bad game.

What the fuck is wrong with people.

Fucking grow up. Learn your vocabulary, and quit getting so angry over a damn video game.

If this game makes you so angry at others maybe this isn't the game for you. There are plenty of other games that offer happy, satisfying experiences, on a more consistent basis.

I don't int. That is all.

You are willingly matching yourself with random players in a competitive environment and not living up to expectations that are given to everyone. This is entirely your fault.

Just because its a video game doesn't make it any different, it's just the same as if you were playing badly in a sport and not doing well. You chose to work with a team, but because they can't choose to remove you then you are given a higher expectation.

You are CHOOSING to be in this environment and you are ACCEPTING the expectations. Any flame you recieve for not doing so is entirely your fault.

You wrote an essay because you got butthurt over something a person said on the internet.

This is why they never should have removed reporting for "unskilled" . FYI , reporting for unskilled never actually punished the player, it simply just lowered there match making rating so they would be placed into games with players of similar skill.

Have you tried learning to play? Maybe then people wont call you an inter O.o

people will still report you for being bad

the "unskilled player" report option was only there to basically filter out rage reports from legitimate reports. they went straight to the bin

you spelled "swear" wrong twice lmao was that intentional?

I feel ya. I've had those occasions where people intentionally fed on my team and the enemy team, and those games where I myself faceplanted on the sidewalk, my teammates and my enemies. I take the win or loss either way, but it's still human error either way. I've actually stopped playing some champs, refusing to pick them up again, because I had a few games with really bad performances, and decided that the champ didn't fit with my playstyle. I play on locked camera too, it helps me keep track of where my champ is. It's not any sort of tell if you are good or bad for not being able to play with the camera unlocked, my guess is that it's up to personal preference.

Last game someone called to report someone for "inting and feeding". [zombie-brand-mindblown] [zombie-brand-facepalm]

DOUBLE TAPPED E4/26/2018, 1:26:37 AM1 votes

Alright, so, according to the MMR system, the people I play with are as similar to me in skill and experience as possible while keeping queue times down.

This means that if someone walks through an unwarded section of jungle with 5 enemies MIA on a squishy champion, they know it's a bad idea and they are doing it anyway. They know that it's likely they will be caught out, and that if they get caught out, they will die.

If someone tries to engage a fight as ADC, they know they will take the brunt of the enemy's burst and CC, and will quickly die, after which we lose the fight. They know they can't be at the front of the group, and that if they are, they will get caught out, and die, but they do it anyway.

So if "inting" is putting yourself in a position where you know you will be killed, and the players I'm matched with have similar experience and game knowledge to me, and I know that what they are doing is guaranteed to get them killed...

Either the matchmaking system is not working properly, or they are inting.

inting was never actually a word

You're legit trolling if you're going 0/3 or more from solo kills in lane. Those deaths are entirely preventable if you build more defensively and adapt to your lane.

I'm sorry mate, but you might want to consider uninstalling league and playing another (singleplayer) game. You show a combination of anxiety and unwillingness to improve that makes you a burden to play with. Most people have better things to do than showing patience to someone who refuses to even play without locked camera. I am serious, go play a fun singleplayer game like Skyrim or something. It will be more enjoyable for you and for all the poor souls that have the misfortune (punintended) of having you on their team.

This hits home. Ive been playing league since season 2, (this is another account I have, to play with my new league playing friends who played Dota). Theres been many threads about the massive amount of irrational toxicity. I remember the days when it was toxic occasionally, but I can say every game I play except one rare one theres at least two extremely toxic childish people. I actually wrote a whole rant in comment but decided to chill. I honestly think this game either creates mental illness in people or attracts them. Either way, dont play ranked until its certain this game isnt so heavily team based. I honestly hope for a new game that I can apply my gaming skill I've learned in this one (not Battlerite, that game is so bugged to the point that I was in a norm game and the person sitting next to me was IN A RANK GAME and we played against each other). Idk, but I feel for you.

People who try hard to win in a game and then get bogged down by a 0/8/2 dead weight teammate and effectively ruined 20+ minutes of their freetime, which some people don't have much of, are understandably upset. Sometimes they can't fathom how someone of your caliber got placed into their game. That's the mindset, it's not a pretty one, I'm not justifying it, but there's your explanation.

SanKakU4/25/2018, 2:18:25 PM1 votes

If you're playing a marksman, at least use a toggle locked camera key so that you're not stuck in that kind of situation. I feel like some champs perhaps are a little bit better, anywhere from 10-15 percent better if on locked camera. But the vast majority of them are easily 75 percent better without locked camera. So it's easy to see why people would flame you mercilessly for choosing to play the game with a massive handicap.

You know about unlocked camera. And you refuse to try it. How does that not equate to intentional feeding? You know it can improve your game, but you choose not to use it. Might as well be using a broken rune page but oh wait, Riot doesn't let you. If you have totally invalid runes(not just weak ones), they will replace them for you. If you can't even bring yourself to toggle locked camera even a few times during a match to test things out, then you're clearly trolling. If you're in a bad situation, you're playing from behind, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain by trying something new and hitting that toggle locked camera button.

That goes for anything in this game. If your ally has something to tell you, another way so to put it other than what you've been doing which everyone knows it not working right now, to just keep doing the same thing because you'd rather not do something new is madness, and would make you look like a poorly designed robot. We are humans, we are capable of adapting. Skill aside, not even making attempts to change things up, even if not necessarily in full agreement with your allies just shows that you're either 1 - not even acknowledging your failures or 2 - accepting your failures and lacking empathy to realize that you're dooming your allies.

NorthernRedStar4/25/2018, 4:05:34 PM1 votes

Even if I end up 0/8/2, which tends to happen when I am on a really bad streak, I am not inting.

So you admit you're tilted, still refusing to take a break from the game, keep queueing up and feeding in your games. And somehow, in your shallow mind, you're not inting?

There's plenty of stories of men entering the battle field fully aware they're going to die. Would you still claim they're not riding to their deaths?

Just because you're not doing something the "strictly by the book" -method doesn't mean you're not doing it at all. Only fools refuse to acknowledge that the term reaches far wider than simply running it down mid at this point. You are guilty, you are inting, and you should stop playing until your mindset changes.

"I didn't lie, I simply left out the truth!" ---> same principle.

Stars Shaper4/25/2018, 4:41:47 PM1 votes

It degenerated from feeding to inting because ppl are forbidden to have a bad matchup and thus giving 1-2 kills (especially if helpless).

mackman4/25/2018, 5:08:19 PM1 votes

I'm of two minds about this - or rather, I have different opinions about different parts of the post.

On the one hand: Obviously "inting" means INTENTIONALLY feeding. Obviously people shouldn't rage like they do, and obviously accusing someone of inting when they're actually just playing poorly is counterproductive at best, cruel at worst. People who rage should be punished, and they should also recognize that raging and threatening don't accomplish anything.

On the other hand: I don't think you are ACTUALLY "doing your best" - and you playing on locked camera despite the obvious limitations is the perfect example. If i'm playing basketball and shooting really horribly, and someone gives me a tip on how to shoot better, I can definitely decline the tip and keep on shooting terribly: But I can no longer say that I'm doing my best, because I'm not! I've deliberately passed on an easy opportunity to improve myself. And if I use huge blinders when playing soccer and someone suggests I take them off because I'll see more of the action, I can definitely say "Sorry, I'm just used to playing like this!" - but again, if I do that, i'm no longer doing my best.

So: I don't think you're doing your best. You're deliberately handicapping yourself in a way that's incredibly easy to remedy, you recognize that you're handicapping yourself, yet you refuse to try to remedy it. You suggest that people who get upset at poor play "play a different game." I suggest to you: If you aren't willing to do the bare minimum to improve the experience of your teammates in a team game, "play a different game."
