You could start by turning off the automatic updates.

There was a recent update that you couldn't postpone or change, and it only notified you 15 minutes before hand. I went through this last week and Windows would not let you change it.

Sorry, you'll have to run through the patching process since you can't log in without doing so first, and if you were gone long enough you'll be flagged as a leaver (though, if you are very infrequent about leaving you can receive little or no punishment).

Yea as some one here already said, you can turn off automatic updates. but it's not like those updates occur everyday. so if you don't ussually leave matches this shouldn't be a problem.
