Is this deserving of punishment?

Normally when I see posts on here from people who think they don't deserve their punishment I disagree with them. And if anything I feel like I'm stricter than Riot itself is about who should be punished for their chat. But a couple days ago I received a chat restriction and I was very surprised. I know that I occasionally say some things I shouldn't, but then I realize it, regret it, and try not to do it again like many other players. To be clear, I know I shouldn't have said some of it, I was frustrated. That's not an excuse. I shouldn't have laughed at the Darius' whine that he won lane, lost game, it was totally unnecessary but not enough to warrant a chat restriction in my opinion.

While there is a lot of chat in general here, much of it was at the end of the game in a relatively short period of time where we were just waiting for minions to arrive at our base. Riot employees have said many times that people don't get punished for just one bad game unless what's said is severe. If this was a pattern why was I only given one game's logs even after submitting a ticket?. I sent in a support ticket and they responded with: "You received a chat restriction for consistent spamming of the chat with complaints and arguments."

A lot of the lines look like they're me saying two things back to back but are actually responses to yet another line or three from my teammates and some are just simply unrelated. If you feel a particular thing I said was really that bad feel free to point it.

I seen plenty of verbal abuse and even done it myself, this here is the lowest of the low. Not saying it's bad I'm saying there's no reason to get banned or chat restriction from this.

I see maybe 1 or 2 lines of bad text but that's it, you must have done other things in over games because this, in my opinion, is not bad text.

Honestly, I don't see why this is reportable?

Perhaps some aggravation in there, which is understandable since League can easily be an aggravating game, but not nearly enough to be punished I feel.

Arguing on chat accomplishes nothing. You're arguing on chat and got reported. The restriction makes sense from the perspective that you're getting a slap on the wrist, seem like a reasonable person, and will likely change your behavior due to receiving a restriction. I personally wouldn't have reported this, as it's not particularly notable.

The second response from Riot to my support ticket about this included the line "It doesn't take 24 minutes of constantly chatting to say someone's advice wasn't helpful." I feel that my response belongs here in this thread as well so here it is:

No, but that isn't what happened. That's the same kind of sarcastic exaggeration response I myself gave twice in that game. You literally just did what I'm being punished for. Their advice didn't start until quite a ways into the game. Most of it was fine in spirit to give but simply unhelpful, which doesn't warrant muting someone over when a simple explanation as to why it's wrong will do. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt by assuming they were actually trying to help and not just being jerks. It wasn't a problem until one of them started insulting me, after which I muted them.

kids just needs to grow some thicker skin honestly. people will report you for ANYTHING, im not gonna trashtalk or give death threats or anything like that. but i'd like the right to be able to tell people that they are wrong or what they are doing is bad for the game, without being punished becuz of a few reports from a couple of adolf ragequitler's and quintin tilterino's

In my opinion, this isn't as bad as some of the other shit I've noticed. If you got marked for anything, it was your passive aggressiveness, such as:

The last time I played a game where my teammate typed a lot of irrelevant chat, it was pretty annoying. You're arguing with your teammates and complaining about your lane instead of offering solutions to the fed fish in mid lane. Asking for banks is ok, but pointing out your teammates missteps isn't. This is pretty light for a punishment, though.

I just figured it out if you see a toxic player and you keep talking to him. you will get punishment also! I don't know why but you will get punishment

just in the beginning type in chat "report xxxxx for ......" and in the ending " Report him pls" thanks that's it mute him the entire game..

Besides u being annoying in the chat responding to a cancerous troll instead of muting him, this doesnt seem report worthy imo, but meh, im not a riot employee lol
