How do Bans actually work?

I am totally lost on this game. Do people actually rewatch games played or read transcripts! I was banned for allegedly being toxic. I was linked the transcript and nothing I said was toxic. However another player on my team int fed and even ran it down mid and was not punished. Seriously what the fuck is this game.

This is your 9th penalty, for similar reasons. The expectation after each penalty, and why logs are given is so you can understand why it is not acceptable in order to change your behavior. If you have questions about how your chat is inappropriate, you can post the logs provided here and I would be happy to run through it with you.

Bans are given out by an automated -- but extremely accurate -- system that parses words, syntax, and context to the best of it's ability. It is not perfect, but it's pretty good.

Can you post your chat logs? We can help you see if this is a legitimate error or a case of something being problematic that you may not see as problematic

The system is largely automatic with chat related punishments. If you post your chat logs other players can provide their own opinion on your behavior since it's hard to remove your own bias on whether or not your own behavior was acceptable.

Understand that this ban system is alot like filling a bucket. Once you fill the bucket, you receive your punishment. Additionally, once you fill a bucket you work you way towards filling the next bucket, and the next bucket, and so on. Working your way up the punishment tiers is the same as fulling multiple buckets. Some behaviors fill the bucket quickly while others do it slowly. Some behaviors can even fill a bucket instantly. And if you are especially careless, some behaviors can fill several buckets. The punishment tiers are as follows:

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

SO, if you've received a 14-day ban then you've filled 3 buckets already and you are working your way towards filling the 4th and final bucket.

PSA: I JUST GOT A 14-DAY BAN!?!? (Q/A compilation)

The large majority of it is automated. Manual reviews are done in some cases, when an automated review is insufficient.

Different people have different ideas on what's toxic. The trick is to figure out what Riot considers to be toxic, and don't do that toxic stuff. We would need to see the chat logs to point out which parts Riot considers to be toxic.

However another player on my team int fed and even ran it down mid and was not punished.

In most cases, you wouldn't know whether someone got punished or not. The system only notifies one of the people who reports an individual. Also , it's much more difficult for the system to detect intentional feeding than toxic chat.

Yes a machine is picking on you personally and punishing you for no reason. It has become self aware and it hates Loozer!!
