Why Surrender When We're Winning?

Nasus Tryndamere Sion Recently, in some games I've played in the Twisted Treeline, I've had allies try to have us surrender. The problem I have with this is that we were winning. Things were going well. I did especially well, as shown by my kill/death scores in those games. I've tried to ask my partners why they were trying to surrender despite our team having the upper hand, but they don't answer. If it weren't for me voting no and my other ally usually not voting at all, we would have forfeit despite having the upper hand and I would have been upset. I don't mind surrendering if we legitimately can't win, but to try and surrender when we have a firm upper hand that's not going away? You don't do that. So why try to do it?

On a side note, my other ally actually did agree to the surrender in the last Twisted Treeline game I played, but I still got the surrender vote to fail by voting no. I guess surrender votes in the Twisted Treeline have to be unanimous no matter how far you get in the game. I don't know.

hmmm.. possible scenario: Queue up for a game, but can't finish due to something happening irl. Try to /ff to end get out of the game to avoid penalties?

If that is the issue, it would be better to say so.

Starting a surrender and not responding when someone asks why is a totally different thing from saying, "Hey, my dog just got loose and I really need to find him."

I'm more willing to surrender games when someone says that then if someone spams surrenders after they die in a teammate just to make their teammates die.

Sometimes people start a game they can't finish. So instead of just afking, they surrender vote to avoid penalties.

Or when you're super far ahead its funny to just throw out a random surrender vote. Or if you get to cocky and die, its a way to express tilt. Not seriously giving up, just fucking around. Twisted Treeline is far more lax than its Rift counterpart.
