Whats the purpose of leaverbuster, when it just shafts those that are already being shafted?

A few days go by of playing league, never leaving a game. Climbing, getting better at a champion you enjoy. Only to have it ruined by your ISP provider virtually shafting you. It's fine, you wait a bit then hop into another match. Nope, your pings great but yet you're gone again. Another match you've "left" causing your team to either lose or remake.

You log-back in, mad at life only to see stamped on your client screen "leaverbuster." Your first reaction is to want to just be a complete dick to the first person you see. Maybe if riot had reviewed the chatlogs, or actually monitored a situation, they would see it wasn't "ragequitting" or "afking" It was literally variables that an individual absolutely could not control.

I've never ragequit but I have been fucked by my ISP. I've fallen in love with league and I love this game, but even then It's literally nothing I could control. I'm trying to get good at one champion, trying to main a champion and better my skills as a player to rank up. I'm not trying to join matches, ruin the game for others, then leave them in the dust.

But Riot games seems to think I am. They view their players at the bottom of a spectrum, a 20minute wait queue for five games. I have to wait 2 hours before I can queue for matches normally. 20-play a match(10-30min)40-play a match(10-30m)-60(play a match 10-30m) You get it. Like this isn't my first time either, about a year ago I had issues as well. It's not fun, it's not fair. I deserve it for afking even though I had no control over the afk. I didn't know my internet would go out. I am literally going into a overwatch match right now while I wait for the leaverbuster to wear down.

I'm constantly in fear that I'm going to wake up to a permaban because of the fact that something I can't control will fuck me over.

Even if your leave is unintentional, unavoidable, and unforeseeable, that doesn't make it any better for the other players that have to put up with your absence. Leaver Buster treats everyone the same so that you are motivated to fix the issues that cause these disconnections; if you are unable to commit to a full match or prevent frequent disconnections, that shouldn't have to be a burden on everyone else.

Btw, Overwatch's penalties for frequent leaving (at least in competitive play) are far worse than a low priority queue in League.

If you need assistance with a technical issue resulting in these leaves, please post on Help & Support, even if it's just for advice with how to approach your ISP.

Nah. They don't think that you ragequit. They think that you are ruining 9 other people's experience by not getting your internet problems sorted out, and that you agreed to not leave games for any reason via the terms and conditions.

And they are right. Get your internet problems sorted out, from what I have heard from other people on the forums it is very hard to get to 20 minute penalties.

Overwatch does the same thing if I recall. I remember I was leaving a bunch of matches because my video card was not agreeing with the game and I had no way to test my fixes besides trying to play matches (to my knowledge) and it told me I would be penalized for leaving games if I did it more. I don't remember what it said would happen but it was going to punish me for it.

As Deep Terror Nami suggested, you may want to contact support about this.

I have heard of situations where there were just some minor tweaks needed to be made to the user's router which made a massive difference.

Your situation may be as simple as that.
