Well, where to begin? ah yes first a disclaimer: I have been told that my writings read as a bit...aggressive? This is not the case and I ask you to hear my word in a calm voice. I digress; There seem to be a few main issues here that have developed and I'll say something on each:
1 Female champs being over-sexualized
2 whether or not to do the same with male champs
3 male/female differences in sexualizing.
OK,(gathers thoughts) First female champs will be over sexualized here. This game falls into a market of fantasy fulfillment( the truth of this should be self apparent) RIOT makes their money off of satisfying the fantastic desires of their customers, for them it is business. Its there plain and simple, accept and move on. Difficult/irritating for some I'm sure but it is just a taste of the real world. Debate the morals of it if you want but I will not condemn RIOT for Sexualizing a fictional Champion of their own creation to help provide for themselves and their familes, and certainly not for doing so in a market where such products are desired and to some extent expected.
Next, the same is done to male champions. Every champion in league is sexualized, it is very nearly impossible to make it otherwise.(everbody likes something different, so there is always someone who likes whatever you made) I will address this sexualizing of males in detail in a moment. PinknBlack what I believe what you are asking for is a particular brand of sexualizing of male champs that is apart from the current norm of the sexualized male champs. As for should you get it? Sure, power to you, far be it from me to deny you your desire, especially here in this market I mentioned earlier.
And lastly the differences in sexualization. In the simplest terms, males and females sexualized are sexualized in VERY different ways but the prevalence remains more or less equal over all. The cliff notes version of the differences is this:
Females are made to be enticing, everything about their character and appearance links directly to the physical act of sex.
Males have their physical, mental, or social power emphasized. Or some combination there of. There is still some of the same sexual aspects that the females have but those take a back seat. You can see this in Kainel's post, the fantasy line up there seems to focus on physical prowess rather than the obsession with privates (breasts, butt, and crotch) that we men folk seem to have.
In short these differences are the result of over 2000 years of human society and survival tactics. Throughout history males have been the providers and females the homemakers. So females made themselves sexy to appeal to the males so that they might have a man to provide for them, and sought out men who were powerful in some way, and vice versa.
So sexualization is here, its a game, RIOT's bussiness, and no its not only the females who have it done to them. Though you could make the argument that the female version of sexualization objectifies them, but I would put it to you to not let that bother unless you or someone you know is objectified and not a fictional character. Because at that point you are objectified whoever is doing it is having trouble keeping fantasy and reality separate, which is a whole OTHER issue than what is being spoken of here.
Now I've rambled enough and despite the post's length I tried to keep it short. So if you have a question or disagree I'm open that but I tried to cover what I could/had thoughts on.
