People need to stop giving a shit

So, I'm a little angry because I lost one of my promo games. Hopefully you'll actually agree with me though.

People need to stop giving a shit. About what? Other players. Not the enemy, your team. People focus way too much about how other players perform. I can guarantee you that this creates at least 70% of all toxicity.

It's seems obvious. A person gets mad that their teammate isn't playing the way they want, they get mad, they yell in chat, someone else yells at them in chat, and then your promos go to shit.

But honest to god, it's not hard. You don't have to mute people. You need to just not care. If someone asked me how I went from dead bottom silver to promos for Gold 1 within a month or two, the very first thing I'd tell them is to not care (or that Swain was broke af but that's beside the point). If you just not care what your teammates are doing, and focus all you can on what you are doing, you will win.

You can't make your team better. You can't make them not decide what they are going to do. If you don't care, you climb. I'm not kidding, if your that person that is so confused as to why you aren't climbing because you think you are good, it's because you care too much. Every high ELO player I've ever talked too, I've asked them about this. They all say to ignore how your players are doing. Acknowledge they are there, work with them to win, but don't give a shit if they are doing bad.

So please, before you say something in chat, say out loud that you don't care instead and play.

I yell at people all the time and that makes them play better, fuck this advice I climb and am toxic. Riot's "statistics" that toxic players lose 16% more games or whatever the fuck is a lie because it doesn't take into account WHY they are losing more games. These players are toxic because their teamates are either:

A. Complete Trash B. Never read their champions abilities/a guide/didn't read any of the items in the game C. Complete Trash

I'm prepared for your downvotes. But this is the truth and the truth is a bitch.

I ping 5+ times and spam in chat not to do baron at that exact fucking moment.

Enemy quadra kill.

Yells "I DON'T CARE"

Enemy penta kill.

Yes, I don't.

I agree. Play YOUR best. Yelling at teammates won't improve their performance. The best you can do is ping and try to be a semi shot caller (if you can). Play your best, and control your own play.

You have to take into account over 32,000,000 gamers and counting. Majority gamers are likely players who are stressed and seek entertainment via gaming or are competitive. Whatever the case, point being personalities, mentality and physicality are all different for everyone.

Not everyone knows how to switch on and off on taking others' comments and redirecting it or to simply "Don't give a shit." I do agree with you but it's easier said than done. If only.

Maybe a mode or the game option to play a chatless game? Lol where Chat box isn't a feature. Just you, your game, your team and the enemy. Pings shouldn't be involved as people can spam pings. It's already annoying enough.

I think it gets to a point where you win so many games that losing begins to mean less. You still want to win but it's not as novel? I don't know. Maybe it gets to a point where you care less about the win, because you know you can do it, and more about a more decisive win or a more interesting win or fixing little mistakes or trying something new or I don't know. I'm crazy.

I have 1k+ wins vs bots. I have 16 losses about. I'm not worried about losing. I don't want to lose, but I'm not worried about it. Going to 17 means so little. I still try to win, and I still try to win hard. I'm being weird. I have more wins than losses in ARAM (I think), but only by about 20-30 maybe. It's the same thing. The win is important but less important because... I dunno.

Someone can say "bot games don't compare to ranked games" or something like that. Well, yeah, maybe, but it's the same idea anyway... maybe.

I didn't participate in team sports growing up, or much like that, so I don't know how those people who did feel about this stuff. I think a lot of people who play this game are like me and have a bad understanding of sportsmanship, which hopefully can be improved like many things. A lot of people are "basement dwelling nerds" like me, with terrible social skills, terrible perspectives (on a new field), terrible anxieties.

When I get mad because I died, it's not anybody else's fault. It is my fault that I was not good enough leading up to that point. Blaming something or someone else is dirty. I don't think this problem will go away in people. Maybe it can be minimized with effort. Still, every day we're going to get the same exact messages on this forum.

It's true. A lot of the pro advice I've seen has to do with your attitude about winning games and towards your teammates. Don't focus on anyone but yourself, and stop caring about winning. If all you wanna do is win games, you're gonna tilt yourself when you lose, which is gonna cause you to lose the next match because you're now tilted. No one can win every game, why do you get pissed when your team loses? Everyone loses. Everyone loses HARD sometimes. Everyone gets outplayed at times. If your ally gets outplayed, don't fucking yell at him for it and make him tilt and wanna make up for it by trying to get a kill that only ends up in another death.

On the same note, I'd say people should stop caring about what other people type too. I really don't expect you to take personal offence when I tell you you're a retarded piece of shit for going full damage Xin when you're 0/5/0. There's just no reason for anyone to care that much about chat messages from a complete stranger in a video game.

I hardly yell at other players for their mistakes, but only yell at them for the sake of the team and us winning. I.e. people are just walking out in no where with no vision, I tell then to stop before you get caught out. Enemy gets baron buff and I'm telling them to not engage unless they start or we pick off a valuable target. Then my team proceeds to one by one, go in and I'm left sitting there watching 3 people die for just 1 person... Because of that we lose the game and it's just like, I warned you guys, why didn't you listen...

I'd give you more upvotes if I could. I was on a terrible losing streak and I kept trying to offer my allies advice on how to play better or how we could easily take objectives and win the game by grouping. I was creating unnecessary stress for myself because I felt ignored and lost and hopeless.

Then, today, I just stopped caring. And then I lost a promo game. I didn't care. I started a new game, my last game in my series. jungle fed, my lane opponent outmatched me. I didn't care. I relaxed, farmed, and I kept my deaths to a minimum. I considered requesting help from the jungle in my lane because I spent much of the game pushed up to my own turret, but I didn't. Because that would just upset me if they didn't. My team won. It wasn't a glorious win for me, but it was a win.
