Instead of giving them a 5 game 20 minute low priority queue wait you should simply make it so they can not play ranked for 5 games. This would keep people who afk constantly out of ranked making it less likely to get afkers in ranked. Simple solution riot.
The 20 minute wait to get in a ranked queue just makes the already toxic afker more toxic by the time they get into the game and doesnt solve anything.

Fresh Untilted1 votesSo that people trying to get level 30 so they can play ranked always has to play with leavers? No thanks. Waiting 5 minutes before a game gives you time to think about what you did. Besides, afking again gives you much harsher punishments, so few people will repeat it.

Unlike climbing, ranked is meant to be taken more seriously and actually has a score effect unlike climbing. Also the 5 minute wait only turns into 20 minute waits and remains that way for multiple offences. Meanwhile it keeps the offenders in ranked so they an continue ruining games. Im simply suggesting keep them in norm games. Also climbing norm games should be separated from lvl 30 norm games but that would probably slow down queues so its unlikely.
