Brace yourselves, this is a long post.

Here is a conversation I recently had with player ''support''.

Hi, 3 days ago I got permanantly banned for toxic behaviour. As I do understand I am not the nicest person around, I do take this game very seriously. In the 2 games in my reform card I've been negative but not to a point to be racist, or to tell someone to kill themselves or to a point where someone could be seriously offended, but more like an argument between me and several other players who teamed up against me because I chose a champion that didn't fit what they wanted or because I forgot smite when I am suppose to be jg (Ranked match). I am a very competitive guy and teamwork is something I value the most, but when I sense I do not have my team on my side I can get angry and I don't defend that. The past few days I had final exams, idk if it's that that puts me on edge easy or what but I've made a huge mistake. I couldn't keep quiet. However, I do think a perma banned is a bit harsh and would like to request another 14 day ban.

In the first game, I forgot smite as I often change roles I didn't think to put smite, during the match, every death and every mistake was pinned on me by my team. At first I didn't respond, I told my teammate I was going to farm his lane top to catch up a bit. (SWAIN was mid, he was mostly the problem) Then later on I was falling behind and got ping spammed by swain (I should of muted but sometimes it doesn't come to me straight away). I went mid, no help on a gank, then got blamed for dying. Thats when the team took a stance against me. The correct solution would be to mute, after a while I did. What happened next is that the enemy team started typing what swain said to me to make sure I'd see it. (Basically I'd have to mute everyone, is that normal?) Then, he constantly harassed me in team chat and asked the enemy team to report me, therefor bulk reported by a bunch of people who didn't even know why to report me cause I was mostly typing team chat and him all chat asking them to repeat what he said so I can read it. Thats the first game, like I said I am not perfect, and yes I make mistakes :/

Second game: I went Zoe support, immediatly judged by my adc who first of all couldn't farm, and I had to take farm for my passive. She started to ask for reports on me to the enemy team because she was unsatisfied with whom I went. I responded out of rage (These games were back to back and this was not acceptable for me to respond, but perma ban worthy?). So I muted her pretty early and started to catch up getting kills with the help of our jg to make sure that late game I wont be stuck useless like tristana would of been cause she kept dying. I even told her flaming is the reason why she was so low elo, but it seems to hurt some people's feelings. Anyway, I had a pretty good relation with the rest of the team, only her, they even took my side telling her to stop flaming or blaming and to focus. She started insulting the enemy team too.

So basically, I did slip up a couple of times, but I really do believe a perma ban for my main account is harsh and all my money is put into it, thats how serious I take it. I guess I wasn't careful and got hit in the face when I got perma banned. I never knew what I had until I lost it. I do hope you guys can review this and hopefully there is a slight chance to get it back.

For now, I think I will take a break from league until my university session is finished, then come back to this game, with a new account or with my old account depending on how this goes, and be cleansed of this terrible time. Maybe I'll play more blind games cause competitive just gets me going into a mode of intense emotions.

While I understand that things can get heated in game, retaliating is never an excusable or justifiable action. In these situations, it's important to keep in mind that if a player is being offensive then they will receive their own set of penalties. Rather than risk your own account from being penalized, it's better to just mute these players and move on.

Looking at your penalty history, it looks like we gave previous restrictions in the hopes that we wouldn't have to ban your account permanently (many more than most accounts get), including a two week suspension in which we clarified that further negativity would result in a permanent suspension.

Sadly, at this point we have given this account all the chances we are able to, and felt that for the good of the community, this case required a permanent suspension.

I understand that you may have intentions to change, and would like another chance, but it would be unfair to your fellow Summoner for us to unban the negativity observed. Especially those who have been exposed to it in game

While I can't remove the ban, feel free to send any further questions or concerns. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Thank you for your time.

ZEMYTHOLOGY March 23rd 2018, 9:20:43 pm The problem is that the level of toxicity in these 2 games are really nothing compared to the general level we see in a lot of games. These 2 games are basically arguments that didn't end in a ''kill yourself'' or a ''fuck you'' or anything over the top explicit. To be honest, this was me defending myself against 2 kids who were basically playing the game to piss people off. Like you suggested I did mute, but there other non toxic players started sending me messages of what the dude was saying. I am asking is this normal? Why am I being permabanned for something so minor? If I was racist, if I was giving death threats, if I insulted the person directly ( and saying he is shitty or bad is not a personal attack but a fact in the moment) then i'd understand. But I sincerly think a perma ban is over the top exagerated, please really consider this request. Thank you!

BORROWER March 24th 2018, 11:12:01 am I agree there are other cases of worse behavior, but we aren't comparing you to those, we are comparing you to our Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. Behavior doesn't have to be over the top racist or hate speech in order to get permanently suspended. Any negativity, if consistent enough, can warrant a suspension. We make this pretty clear in our Terms of Use:

"5.1. Can I troll, flame, threaten or harass people while using the Riot Services? (No. If you do, you might get banned.)"

And for players who aren't sure what would be considered "flaming" or "harassing", we also have our Code of Conduct to clarify.

We do have a general path of penalty escalation for any negative behavior at all:

First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction Third Offense: Two Week Suspension Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

Looking into your account, I can see that we have followed this pattern for your account. I'm sorry if you feel this punishment is over the top, but unfortunately it was the correct level of punishment escalation due to the negative behavior observed, and previous offenses.

I did not break any of these rules.

I did not harass, an argument is not considered harassment.

Harass: to continue to annoy or upset someone over a period of time:

Clearly I did not upset anyone since he was the one provoking me into typing such things. If he were upset, then he'd mute me? Also, I was bulk reported by people who didn't even know why to report me. They just went with the '' please report support/jg''.

Also, why can people like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PmK_muMlR4 and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ksU46FHkaY get their accounts back when what they said broke at least 3 of the rules stated above? When I am supposedly breaking one.

These videos inspired me to dispute this ban as I believe what I said was nothing close to what these people have said. They even say ''%%%got'' or even ''peace of shit''. At no point I have reached that kind of language. I did say shittyness, it's not even a word.

I appreciate you sending the code of conduct back at us. I do have to agree with them on this case, your account was issued a permanent ban after the continued misuse of chat.

While I can't talk about any account this isn't your own, exceptions are made on case to case basis at our discretion. And unfortunately there is no exception that can be made for your account. I understand that is frustrating but this account has gone through our tier system twice over its life time and ultimately a final penalty was issued.

If there are no new issues I will be closing this ticket soon.

What I am asking is how come some people get exceptions when they clearly broke the rules when what I did barely scratches them. I truly believe this is unfair judgment, please understand. I really want a legitimate review of my case with everything considered. Thank you.

THERMALLAMP March 26th 2018, 11:26:13 am I think you're misunderstanding Tyler1's case,

Tyler1's original account will remain banned, as the only ban that would be lifted would be his "ID ban" or Identity Level Ban. Regardless, we’re not changing our policy around permabanned accounts: Once an account is permabanned, it stays banned. That applies to accounts from ID banned people as well, like Tyler1.

As you've shown the same negativity in all your games, after each penalty issued, we've reached this point of no return. I understand that its frustrating but there isn't an exception that we can make here.
