As I said to Onastacia my old boss used to go through face book and reject applicants due to inappropriate comments she even fired someone due to what was posted on their fb page. I'm not trying to give you a hard time :) Really I agree most of what you say . I must say though about the work issue...Honestly it depends on the state and the business which is trying to use social media. Some are restricted from directly using it.
Having said that in all seriousness Kildrid, I have been asked to do this very thing. And I never like the ideal of doing it as I don't feel it's in my job description, and it feels creepy so I always say no and look up to see if that company legally can do this, IT does happen IRL more often then people think.
Obviously it was a kidding remark (thread) by OP and not meant as a realistic option to the problem. No one is saying that this ideal should be done.
