Some people go AFK in early game for a few minutes and then come back, perhaps because they go to do something interesting while loading but forget to come back in time. I report them every time, however, I wonder whether Riot actually punish them, as they only AFK for a part of the game. And do you think they should get punished?
I've been punished as AFK when I was only AFK about 4 minutes out of a 45 minute game. I AFK'ed because 2 of our players were bots and 1 other was AFK, so only 2 people were playing and they refused to group. I AFK'ed for a few minutes then came back to finish it up but I still got low priority queue at the end of the game.
There should be some sort of limit, if they are AFK say average 10% or less of the game, it shouldn't be punished.
thats a tough problem! i mean its only a video game and real life stuff comes up, especially when some of these games take almost an hour. but if you go afk for 2 minutes to hit the bathroom, that is enough to lose the game sometimes.
are you really going to say you have to sit at your cpu and not get up for any reason from a video game for 1 hour?
I feel Riot doesn’t care. I guy once told in game that Riot doesn’t care about people that plays casually, and I’m starting to believe that Riot only cares for the top players, the guys that you see in videos playing finals and so on. Else they would have solved already the problem of people going AFK. Almost all games I lose is because someone on my team goes AFK, it seems impossible to be that people gets punished as they deserve for wasting the fun of the rest of the team and they keep going AFK. I may be wrong, but would it be so hard to create a level of AFKdness? You could choose if you wanted to play with people that never go AFK, and in that “level” if you went once AFK you would get banned to the next level, where you would play would similar people.
