Probably 2 years ago, maybe a year and a half ago i was perma banned on my old account for having a bad name. I understand it was a bad name although ive seen much worse playing at higher elos.... I asked riot to unban me and said id pay to change my name so i could have an account back. They didn't even respond to my request.
Just curious why this isnt a possibility.
You don't get a ban for a bad name. They just change your name into a "placeholder" like "blaaaXXXXX" (XXXXX is a random number, and I don't remember the correct placeholder before the name, because it's a long time since it happened to me). Than you can send in a Support ticket with 5 names, and they will rename you to the first summoner name that is free and not inappropriate.
Or the second variant: They decide a new summoner name for you. Like a friend of me had the name "fuck my job" and RITO renamed him too "love my job" ;^)
So no, you didn't get a ban for your name. (Otherwise this account would be banned too, the name was "Robo C.ock" -__-)
I will admit that it does seem weird that they didn't respond to your request for a name change. Did you ever try responding back to the support ticket again?
