I just don’t get it

Why do people here bitch and moan about getting banned for acting like douchebags? Y’all know not do be an ass to your team by afking or harassing people, but when you get banned it’s all “I’m innocent! I did nothing wrong!” The fuck? Then how’d you get banned if you did nothing wrong? “Here’s my chat logs, I said nothing bad!” Reads about a quarter of the logs Yup, that’s a wrap.

Then it’s “RITO STOLE MY MONEY!!” For real? Just read the TOU before saying stupid shit like that. Also the “muh free speech!” thing doesn’t work.

Finally, we get the “I swear I’ll never do it again!” speech. Yeah, sure. You just got perma’d. You already had your chances. Why do you think it’s permanent? Because you repeatedly exhibited behavior that was deemed ban worthy. And you were warned.

If you don’t want to get banned, don’t be an asshole. It’s really not hard.

TLDR, people complaining about bans is stupid 9/10 times.

Yeah, i guess most of the time youre right. But a lot of them are just ignorant. Theres mostly nothing morally wrong with the things people do to get punished (usually), as morality is pretty subjective and no one really has a moral authority to tell you what is right or wrong when it comes to minor social interactions. But we have decided as a society that certain things are objectively wrong (punching someone in the face for no reason, murdering your neighbor because their lawnmower is too loud and youre trying to sleep). Sure, they may be an asshole, but being an asshole isnt all that bad. Their main mistake sometimes was just not knowing that being an asshole is against the rules. Thats why i stick to the rules as context when explaining why someone was banned. Not "because you were being a douchebag".

And when you say "its really not that hard" its just kind of you projecting your own personality onto others. People grow up in different environments with different norms. It may not be so easy for others, but that doesnt mean the standard changes for them. It may actually be difficult for them, but hey, thats life. Some people live with disabilities and thats gotta be hard. So if youre naturally an asshole, its gonna be hard for them to play league and they just gotta deal with the hand they were dealt.

The free speech reasoning does kinda piss me off though. Theyre so ignorant as to what free speech actually means in America, it irks me that they try to use that card for being banned in a video game lol. When the government shows up and takes them away for insulting people in a video game, I'll be on their side. Until then, they need to educate themselves.

Players should have a space where if they feel like a ban is unjust, they can complain. Occasionally, a ban is inappropriately placed, looks odd, or doesn't make sense with the reasons given. While you might not like punished players, everyone I'm sure has bad days or games. Even with players who are extremely negative or chronically so should at least be afforded some opportunity to get reasonable feedback from the rest of the community.
