How To Not Tilt?

Leo1024·12/19/2016, 4:05:23 AM·2 votes·503 views

I'm dangerously close to getting a 2 week ban and I REALLY don't wanna get banned, I was good for a while but recently every time I do well (mostly mid) they start hiding and getting the jg and adc to camp me and it's super tilting, any tips on how to avoid this? anyone know how the pros deal with this kinda stuff?

If anyone knows a way to disable chat in general i'd greatly appreciate it, I move the chat box often but i always bring it back because of how much i tilt

i'd love to not tilt but i'd like it more if i could disable my ability to chat until i can avoid tilting

Thanks, Leo1024

It's about maturity and self-control. No, that's not an insult, I'm just saying those are two paradigms that you can improve over time with practice and patience. The fact that you care and are trying to improve is enough to prove you have the potential to grow in this aspect. Considering that several adults are incapable of this, including senior citizens, you should feel accomplished in this regard.

Now, as for alleviating behaviors...

Standard procedure is mute all if necessary (not at the start of the game, but when you hit that breaking point IMMEDIATELY mute everyone and rely on pings). Instead of typing when you feel angry, try yelling at the screen verbally. When your throat gets sore and you feel bored by yelling the same things, you'll eventually tire and stop it and this might translate to your games.

De-stress after games. Always important.

Shake things up and remember to play normal games. Play roles you aren't used to, champions fun to play but you're not skilled enough with or the meta doesn't favor them in competitive.

Play support occasionally. You might develop paternal/maternal instincts that help you keep your tilting moods internal in fear of hurting your beloved demon spawn.

etc etc

Unbind your chat key. I wouldn't recommend that except in this situation. If you're serious about fixing your problem, do it.

Aside from that, when you get angry, say things out loud. Don't type them. It helps.

What I do is I ward one of the brushes in mid lane and I stay near it since I know that if they come from the other side I can easily escape and if they come from the side thats warded I can see them in advance. If theyre camping you then what you can do is think about the positives of them camping you. like for example your bot lane might be doing very well so them camping you lets your bot lane continue to destroy lane. ALso dont be scared to ask your jungler for ganks, just dont blame them. Its not their fault you are getting camped and saying something like "when will you gank?" will make them less likely to. they dont have to gank you specifically. And the last thing is if what tilts you comes from the enemy making a smart ass remarks like "outplayed" then just mute them. Dont even tell them youre going to.

Disable enemy chat because the meta shifts over to flaming to tilt the enemy team once schools are out for holidays / breaks

Also keep a positive mindset, your mistakes ... even if they get you killed early game in laning phase you can always warn your teammates of possible snowball of enemy jg or mid lane roams

Tilt all you want, avoid profanity and afking and you'll be fine. Alternatively, you're ban teir goes down once per month, so leaving pvp or non-5-man-premades for 2-3 months will also reset your penalty thing. Fun fact, frequent players are statistically more likely to be permabanned because bad game frequency goes up with game frequency.
