But only if you're serious about reform and the subject of the punishment you received.
Hi, I'm Xurreal. Nice to meet you.
I first got serious about League of Legends after it went live at about the March the year after.
It's been an incredible trip.
But sadly, due to things the way they turned out, I have lost my privileges (and authorization over anything but my personal data) to that account. It was because I broke the 1st rule of "The Summoner's Code".
When I signed up back then, it was the first time I had ever seen such an arrangement over an online game. It was perhaps the most formal of informal presentations. Yet the way that it was presented stuck with me and I couldn't ignore The Summoner's Code and the philosophy behind it. It was so fresh in everyone's mind's back then, Riot Games had never really had to divert funds from Player Behavior Support funds to be able to constantly (and/or consistently) churn out content after content (of course, PBS existed, but the allure of the game allowed people to not really care about the few lost games they had.
>1. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM
>Being a good team player begins at champion select. Be open minded when considering the needs of your team. If you’re the last one to pick, try to fill a niche in your team that hasn’t already been filled. If everyone’s picked and something stands out as s deficiency in your team composition, try asking for another player to fill the gap, or change roles to embrace that responsibility yourself. Remember, that by taking on a role you don’t normally play, you’ll learn more about unfamiliar champions and increase your own skill level.
Then Ranked Draft came out.
So here is where I tell you the honest truth. From the beginning of my League of Legends career, I have always had a sort of toxic aura about myself. I am and always have been toxic, but was blind to it. I, like many individuals today posting about their punishments (gg gj Riot), didn't or don't truly grasp what the meaning of the First Rule of the Summoner's Code actually means. I want to ponder with you this meaning, and hopefully someone out there might benefit from reading this.
Understand, please. I do what I want. I am a grown man. Don't let me fool you. I am kind, not mean. I wanted to play Evelynn as much as humanly possible. I wanted to be the best. The damned best. I wanted to be the best of every lane. I knew somehow there was a way. I didn't care if it didn't match what the comp was, I knew there was always a way. (Thank you for the practice tool, by the way Riot). I only pay for all that content because I want to support the game's longevity!
But over the lifetime of my career, when I would be questioned about the Evelynn pick in strange lanes especially including top (which I can dominate sometimes), I would constantly have to explain my self each and every time. Over the years, I was warn of it due to the negative push back. My decisions was the dynamite and their flames lit the fuse.
Believe me, more than 50% of the community I encounter do not like my decisions from champion select if it isn't Jungle. To the day of my ban, I still have won several games Evelynn top lane ranked, but most often under negative circumstances. I have also lost several games. Those who face me know when they have been bested. Those who don't know right away often couldn't do anything about it because its too late (Toxic Beta Evelynn). By the way, I lose by fail too. Especially to
(you're welcome. 100% counter pick even if you mistakenly play like you are using
or something.) But trust me, I am good, I just have extra fail games due to my toxicity that prevented me from climbing. When you are outmatched but your team doesn't trust you, a possible Victory becomes a for sure defeat once anyone fires even a warning shot.
(Don't die now
)
The point is, I stopped keeping the first rule of the Summoner's Code. I eventually tired of explaining myself over and over, and grew toxic enough to the point where action had to be taken.
So if you're like me (you don't take any), my lesson learned and shared with you is to remember the Summoner's Code. At the very least, read the very first paragraph. Or the first slide if you do it through LeagueofLegends.com.
In the end I learned from my ultimate defeat that it was breaking the 1st rule that lead to my defeat. The first rule is the first rule because without it, everything falls apart. It's also apart of the ToU now, and that means its legal so doubly so don't risk anything. Heed my warning...
Just do you. You just do what you want to do, but don't make things difficult out of Spite and Malice.
(Ehyyyy
).
Show those guys that you do you better than they do them, and carry that game. You don't need that leash and you know it. Take their kills or just show up and surprise them from your expertise. Anything at all. Just don't reply to the first guy because you don't take any.
TL;DR
Just don't take any. Just do you better. Carry that game. Make them jealous.
To talk back is to take it.
DON'T TAKE THE BAIT.
But while following Rule number 1.
Support the the team. The people are the team.
